That's a solid poster Joker. Great fights on that card. Too bad they aren't like that today.

    What's/Who is that avatar Joker?

  3. Thanks, I'm trying to make them more professional because they'll eventuelly go in a portfolio.

In the avatar, it's an adidas ad for Jonah Lomu. 'He's the speed, you're the bump'

    Another good poster Joker :good

Are you studying Graphic Design at uni or anything?

It'd be good to have a fantasy fight posters section, especially if you got them printed properly!

p.s I managed to get some of the Hoefler & Frere-Jones font families including Champion and Knockdown, cheers!

    That is quality.

    Zarate would win IMO

  6. Thanks, I don't study graphic design at uni, i used to earn money from making art for people as a teen but in the end decided to do something else, It'd still be good to keep it as a hobby/side job on some kind of online portfolio but have to get back in form first.

The next poster is Jack Dempsey v Max Schmeling and isn't a retro poster.

That's cool. I did Graphic Design/ Advertising at uni but have since gone into Advertising so it's good finding some time to get back into it.

I have the prefect Ali picture and I'm hunting for a good Joe Louis pic now, that's my next one :D

  8. Damn, can't wait to see it because that one has been needed to be done for a while now. I didn't know you were a pro, thats cool but might keep these freelance ideas on the downlow then :admin.

Haha I'm not a pro don't worry, far from it. Most of my work is done with pen and paper now so my Photoshop skills aren't so good anymore!

Yeah, I'm suprised no one has done it yet, looking forward to your Dempsey/Schmeling one!

This was supposed to be Marciano's last fight before retirement, but Valdes made the mistake of fighting Archie Moore first. Moore beat him, and started calling out Marciano, who was forced to fight Archie instead. But if you look at Valdes' record, you can't imagine him lasting more than a few rounds with Marciano, who had the better chin by a mile.

True, but at the same time Valdes could whack; he'd make it interesting, and was also a big lump.

Think Marciano would've worn him down to a stoppage in seven or eight rounds myself.

Yeah I can certainly see it being a short but interesting fight myself.
