I watched Froch against Kessler today. I cannot imagine either of these guys beating Bute. Bute is at least as quick as them, boxes almost as well, and is a massively superior puncher. Bute is an excellent athlete who is trained to make the most out of his physical assets. He also puts his punches together beautifully. Crisp, snappy shots.

You are. Dirrell's main asset was to be American. And cheap to sign. He wasn't even in the top 10. 11th if I remember correctly. The super six made their publicity claiming to have the 6 best fighters from the SMW category. It was false. Dirrell was 11th, Abraham was new to SMW, Taylor had done nothing but beat Lacy and been ko'd by Froch. As far as Dirrell is concerned, he was too green at the beginning of the tournament but has matured pretty fast. We'll se if the end of his fight against Abraham has left some doubts in his mind. Ward doesn't punch hard, so he won't be afraid to be KO'd. He'll have to pay attention to Ward's inside game though.
cheap to sign has nothing to do with it. bute didn't crack the international scene and he was overlooked. froch beat taylor and gained the rep points needed to be included. don't be sore because your boy didn't put his hand up and make it happen.

Bute has no claim to be ranked #1. His resume is suspect at best and there are several boxers in his division who have better resumes and are equally skilled or have better skills.
