i dont know about owning him but i think it would be a great fight prime hagler vs primer hopkins and ppl tend to forget that hopkins had 20 title defenses and Hagler around 12 i think

You know, Hopkins is ****ing brilliant when fighting good fighters with one great tool and taking that tool away. Hagler is a great fighter with many good to great tools. Big difference. Hopkins couldn't just nullify the worst of it and school him with a spoiling. Hagler will be there, two fisted, in his prime with good mobility, smart, strong, quick, durable, able to last to the final bell. No way does Hopkins stop Hagler, I don't believe he outpoints him either. But, I also have a hard time picturing a Hagler victory by knockout in this one. Hopkins is a tough, cagey SOB. I say Hagler by unanimous decision and tremendous bald-headiness that even BHOP can't match.

Hopkins is too defensive and Hagler would take it by decision.

So now Hopkins' defense and chin are below Roberto Duran?

I don't like Hopkins, but he was only beaten by fighters with superior speed. Hagler's best attributes are not the ones that stylistically are the most difficult for Hopkins to deal with. Hagler would meet a fighter as tough and durable as himself and his great offensive skills would meet a frustratingly effective defense. This seems like a close matchup to me.

I say Hagler wins the first fight and Hopkins wins the rematch.

That don't mean anything. Hagler would have Hopkins jumping to the canvas so many times (clutching his balls or whatever) that Hopkins would get DQ.

no disrespect to hagler, but hopkins would take away his southpaw jab and frustrate him all day.

on way to a close UD

haglers workrate would get him some rounds

hagler struggled with roberto duran and many other fighters.
