ANYONE who has purchased discs from RB will no doubt NOT see him as a 'greedy ****'

The amount of stuff he gives away for free, only to spur on discussions/intrigue a poster he knows will like a certain fighter, cannot even be detailed.

He's generous as ****, and who the **** are you anyway?!?!

There's Oakland-Burley and a bit of prime Robinson on youtube but as far as Charles-Moore, I'd love to see that especially since I'm a big Ezzard Charles fan.

I sure as hell would love to see both Gavilan-Robinson fights especially since I'm a big Ray Robinson fan(well I love Mosley the most out of the sugars plus he's my fav fighter but I love Leonard & Robinson too and am a fan of all three).

Just wanted to help if I did lol. I'm sure more footage will be release of fighters but in the meantime I just enjoy the footage that is obtainable.

Hey RB or anyone else who has unreleased fights...

I was wondering if I could talk to you about your library in hopes to maybe buy one of your fights

If I had the money, I'd release the fights for free. RB has every right to attempt to get money out of his purchases, and he has every right to conduct his business as he chooses.

McGrain, you need to realize giving away something for free isn't as "stupid" as you make it out to be. Maybe you had a few too many bad Christmas's or something (or none at all!). I give away free stuff all the time. Recently, I had a few boxing books I thought a kid would be better off with then me. Yeah, I paid (roughly $110) for them but the value is in teaching someone else. Not hoarding the information for yourself, and not just because this kid didn't have the money. In this society we're broken to assume everything has a monetary value, that's a really sad position to hold. I give things away for free when there's a greater value to the person that would desire such a thing. However, that's how I conduct business.

Why all this? Because I think money is a silly game. It sadly perverts people's views into points in which all they see is monetary value. I can't live my life like that, and anybody that has read "The Death of Ivan Ilych" will understand my stance on an artificial life. I refuse to live like that.

    Nicely said. :good

Prized or rare fight films are not ever purchased because someone wants to see them. It becomes business.. exactly as RagingDickhead called it when he first contacted me regarding some footage I pretended to posses.

If no one offered money to view these films, the films would have no value. Simple.

My own collection of boxing pieces is not exactly limited. Although items that are more appropriated to others are generally passed on.. FREE!!!

...and yes, I'd definately pay $300 for some film and made it available FOR FREE.

As Briscoe says, handing over items is not STUPID.... far from it. I've handed over some things to ESB members and recieved, what I consider, 10 fold in return.

RB may have slaved for 60 hours/week in gaining some of these films.. and yes it's his own doing, but in doing that, he's feeding the hands that steal from his wallet... and the shitty cycle continues.. "I payed $$$ for this, I want $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ in return"..

Oh, RB... just in case you are to read this, I hope to have the complete Carruthers vs Songritrat film before long. When I do, It'll be available for download when transferred. :hi:

I'd like to think that a lot more fights exist than we get to see, whether in private collections or elsewhere and one day we can, but if not then that's that person's decision if they've got it to share (or sell).

No you wouldnt. Thats bull****, because its not just about money. Its about hard work and taking pride in something thats quality. Fine, I collect boxing books and magazines, send me all the magazines and boxing books you have free of charge. Come on. Any one of you blow hards who say they would release this stuff for free send me all of your boxing books and magazines for free. Dont want to part with the originals? Fine, scan them all into your computer and send them to me on DVDs. Sound like a lot of work for nothing? Now you get the picture... Because thats perception you have? Its not just about picking up a phone and placing an order for something and getting it. If it were that easy YOU would have done it. I'll be waiting on those scans...

If you really want to see the fights, then pay for them. Thats why we have money. Which is basically made out of paper.

You can work, and earn more paper

and eventually you can trade that paper for goodies in life...such as a house...a car....or fight films.

When people give us fights from their collection, they are going above and beyond the calling. They deserve the ultimate respect. But you cant expect anyone to give you anything. Its a bad reflection of character as well

I think it's going to the right direction. Sure there are a lot of fights that aren't readily available for the public to view, but more and more fights are uploaded on the internet daily. Rare fights too. The days of the fight fan having to trade films or pay money to see the classic fights are just about over, and it's not a bad thing at all. Of course there are always going to be some fights that stay only in the collector's hands, but these fights aren't necessarily that great quality anyway. You'll be disappointed if you watch the film of Zale-Graziano II for example.

Still, it shouldn't be hard to understand why a person might not give up their collection away for free. There are a lot of supporters but also a lot of people who don't show any appreciation whatsoever. It's as if they believe that it's something you are supposed to do and not something you do out of your good will. It's best to ignore these people, there will always be critics no matter what.

You can even get in trouble for publishing videos if you violate copyrights. But in the end you're doing a favour to the great old fighters who should be remembered and seen by the public, and it's guaranteed that there will be more positive feedback than negative.

As for those who say that they would give up something of value "if only they had money to pay for it", no one is really going to believe you unless you go ahead and do it. It's just how it is. Actions speak louder than words or something to that effect.

Books and Magazines are NOT duplicated in standard form.. Yes, photo copies of pages can be done.. all very simple. Where as FILMS can be transferred with limited cost... and STEVE, dont even think of telling me otherwise!!!!

If a FILM has been purchased by a collector it's obviously been segmented when retailed to the second purchaser in the form of video or DVD.

    Keep the con going pal.

FILM owners are the ones who release snippets of footage already transferred.. WOW!!! What a bombshell!!

I'm not suprised you've stuck your big nose into the defence...

Youve just proved my point. People like you only think about simple act of copying a tape or DVD or uploading it to a server. You dont think about everything else thats involved when it should be obvious to you that the reason some of us have this stuff and you dont is we worked hard to get it and you want to sit on your ass and have it handed to you.

"Send me all your books and magazines".. Umm, not quite the same as duplicating film..

    You make no sense.
