Warren getting into the Irish market good for him and boxing in Ireland. Get a couple of cards here over the next year or 2 and it will be great.

It makes sense for him to do it. The lads need the backing from the fans they build up here and in Ormond being a Dubliner we need someone to step into Dunnes boots and with Warrens backing this could be the man to make Warren big bucks here.

Ireland is booming at the moment it seems and Warren has a few good Irish fighters so hopefully we will get to see some big fights over there or joint promotions.

I get the feeling that Warren my be fattening up his Irish contingent in order to make an assault on the Irish market - with Macklin (to a lesser extent Gavin) as the spearhead?

Yes tony I could't agree more. I know Fit called him out and all but Spike is not a 160 fighter and to be honest I think he could almost make 147!

Say what you want about Frank Warren, he is a smart and astute businessman. This is only good news for Irish boxing. Peters' monopoly could be challenged in years to come. :thumbsup

Peters still has RTE so is garenteed X amount of fights a year which is great for him and Irish boxing on free to air tv. If Warren does a card here it will be on Sky and he will have to market the fighters to the casual fight fans. While with RTE boxing being shown live it has always done great numbers for fights and I expect Warren to get those fans on board as long as he markets the fights right.

With the fighters at his disposal I dont think it would be too hard for his to make a success of it.
