If this trio can teach today's boxers is that although money it's important, you can always make sacrifices in order to prove yourself that you are the best. I know that basketball is a team game when you compare it to boxing but the principle is the same.

In the case of Pac vs. Floyd. We all know that this fight has to happen. For history, for legacy. This fight is bigger than themselves and I can't believe that we are stuck in stupidity of drug test and **** like that.

They should definately learn from this trio. You got 3 guys in their prime that are doing whatever is possible and necessary in order for them to win and be the best and will actually take a pay cut just to get it done. How many boxers are doing the same thing now days?

It's funny, I came here to get away from all the Lebron drama. Looks like I can't win. But yeah, you make a valid point. Boxers should adopt the same attitude as certain bball players whose focus is on winning. If the NBA can guarantee us The Finals every year, Boxing should grant us the Floyd-Pac bout with no questions asked. Unless we see a miraculous change I doubt boxers have the desire to move out of their comfort zone. We're stuck with major issues that will unlikely go resolved.

Wade, Bosh, Lebron equals a boxer taking steriods, hgh, loading there gloves to win. If they really wanted to make "sacrifices" they would've built up a team instead of manufacturing a power house to complete with Kobe and the Celtics ect.

Sorry man, but didn't the Celtics did it when they signed Garnett and Allen?? c'mon... Anyway... this is not to talk about basketball... it's about how our boxers should learn when to make the necesary sacrifices contractually in order for important fights to be made.

Lebron James couldnt go broke in 2 life times even if he tried. It's pretty hard to compare him to guys that are fighting to feed there children. Outside of Mayweather and Pacquiao, Lebron probably made more in two years then every champion and challenger in title fights combined in the past 2 years.

the difference is these guys are all multi millionaires and dont have to worry about money for the rest of their lives. boxers dont get payed nearly as much and are in a much riskier profession

What I learned is that Floyd and Pac should come together to do a 1hr special where they sign the contract live on TV! The earnings from that program should be enough to satisfy Floyd so that he can be happy with the 50/50 split and make the fight!

I didn't know what to expect upon reading the thread title as this could have gone in a number of ways.

Although there are vast differences between the 2 sports and the dynamics of the described situations, I still agree with central point. As a fan, it would be nice to see boxers make concessions particularly when the end is still highly prosperous.

I agree, but when you get into a level like Pac, Floyd, ODLH and Trinidad in the past were he was getting $8 - $13 mill in the past... believe me... they can make couple of concessions.
