Maybe the NSW boxing authority is concerned about litigation from Roy? Just a spec.

They have sanctioned far worse mismatches than this...as Leon said, why did it take them this long to come up with concerns for Briggs welfare?

Nah, that's a smokescreen. Something more to it.

Appears you can still buy tickets on-line through Ticketmaster.

Would have thought if it was off they'd have stopped selling tickets straight away?

If it wasn't for that useless ***** Spibot, Phil Austin would still be here posting and able to clarify what's going on with this fight - or not going on, whatever the case may be.

I've still have 4 end to end tickets for Green v Guray, Greens biulding up a bank of useless collectors items of cancelled fight memorabilia.

I was just told it's in Perth.

I guess Czar Amonsot is facing an uphill battle to get licensed to fight in NSW then.

Yeah, Ticketmaster just disowned it. At least in Sydney anyway.

Remember too that the NSW government were going to tip some money in to ensure they got this bout.

There was a gov minister only days ago sprouting how they were the entertainment & boxing capital of Australia etc.

...obviously this also gave them greater veto clout.

Litigating a Nsw government body that is protected by an act of parliment will cost Mr jones more than he has earned in his whole career!

Yeah, apparently the mail is that it has nothing to do with Roy's people.

If its off hopefully Briggs wil take 1 or 2 tune ups against fairly decent opponents, look good doing so, and then fight Green.

That way the knockers will have no ammo.

Sounds like same night, different venue, and no time for any warm-ups.

Briggs lodged his application at the last min hoping the authority would pass it, they met and decided against it, still cannot see how After being passed by numerous dr's the authority can say he is not fit to box, why have dr's reports if the authority just over rule. If they knocked it back because of a mismatch i could understand but surley not, they have knocked it back because of health issues which have been ruled out by dr's

It's funny other sportsman are getting KO'd on a weekly, monthly basis ala Dallas Johnson (storm RL) and Chuck Liddell (UFC) yet a bloke like Briggs who hasn't been iced and has a 3.5yr recovery from his last fight can't get a gig.
