It's not an excuse...it's the same with every British boxer who wins an Olympic medal nowadays. They are hyped up, given as much exposure as possible...usually skip past British and European belts, and if they are good enough...will be given a shot at a World Title at the earliest possible time. I'd say that is a very priviledged start to a professional career.
Also...I'm not saying Khan didn't deserve that kind of start to his pro career, or he didn't earn it. But when you compare Khan's achievements at this early age, to Marquez's early achievements...you have to take this into consideration.
The bigger fact is, American boxers then Mexican boxers get all the glory and rankings based soley on their birthplace, especially if they are non-whites! Khan stopped Barerra, JMM needed a massive robbery to have a win against him, Khan is a world title holder and talking about fighting Bradley, maidana and Alexander, this isn't protected or hyped, he is legitimately an excellent boxer.
