A loss certainly meant something in the case of Hozumi Hasegawa. He hadn't fought many world beaters or names at all before facing off against Montiel. Although undoubtely a grade A fighter, Montiel was actually moving up and was coming off a few pedestrian performances. No question we'll be seeing many "Floyd was always a fraud" threads in the event he faces and loses to the Filipino sensation, but he's got a pretty good resume by contemporary standards now.
Crazy **** it certainly is. Floyd Mayweather is an outstanding boxer, why people can't enjoy that as it is ****ing happening is beyond me. People who were saying he would never fight Mosley because it's a toss up, as soon as the fight got made changed their minds to it being a joke fight etc, so cringing.

And I certainly don't 'hate' Floyd because of his out-of-ring persona. It's due to people considering him a top 50 fighter of all time. Which, resume and skillset, he plainly isn't. The most overrated fighter of the past 25 years.
I dislike him for it. I think he has the skillset, he just doesn't have the resume but he's almost there now.

No, it's a fair thing to say. He doesn't have a very good resume. There are fighters that look as aesthetically pleasing but don't get the same kudos he gets. I think he looked good against Mosley. Not an opponent in his prime though. I'd rate him over Aaron Pryor in my ATG list. Positive enough? **** it, I've been over it to many times, I'm off. Can't be arsed.
