Dempsey was way over-the-hill but for a moment there he showed a flash of the old brilliance. A beautiful combination : precise, well-timed, and instinctual.

 

How was this converted to HD?

 

Surely the original film wasn't in 1080p, its probably upscaled into the format but it certainly won't have the HD detail

 

right cross was perfectly timed.

 

The original was shot on film stock, so possibly had more detail than 1080p HD, depending on how well it was reproduced from the negative.
Lines of resolution dont apply to film stock.

This has been converted from a DVD or computer file though, I assume, so you are right in that regard.
Still, it looks good.

Its all clean and eveything. Were though I have the complete fight, it has the grind and dirty, even seeing a finger print at one point lol.

 

Exactly. Had the count been faster he would've got up IMO; more buzzed than he was, but the speed with which he resumes play shows me he would've recovered quickly anyway.

 

Speed, power and killer instinct...too bad JACK WAS NOT ACTIVE BUT most of the champs back then were big stars outside of the ring...could you imagine how big they would be with T.V. or cable

Tunney got up well and fought well, great condition, reminds me of Ali-Frazier 1 but Tunney got up to win and Jack was not prime like Joe

 

watching a combo and kd like that is why i am always confused when people say dempsey is unskilled

 

One thing people always overlook in this fight is the fact that Tunney had his head caught on the ropes with no where to go, he was already dazed, and took Dempsey's best shot, a flush left hook (Dempsey's money punch) to the jaw. He got up as per the rules (it was Dempsey's fault the count was long) and after running for a bit actually came back to be totally in control of Dempsey by the end of the round. Thats a hell of a beard Tunney showed.
