Alright guys,i was looking for a video at a press conference where Thomas Hearns introduces Mike Tyson and then Tyson stands on a podium and takes his shirt off and starts mouthing off to the crowd. I saw a clip of it years ago but cant seem to find the full video anywhere Dunno if anybody has any links to it? On my travels i came across this article that Hearns wanted to fight Tyson after he beat Hagler, unfortunately u cant read the full article until u join the website. http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1P2-3839383.html Make of it what u may, im trying to do some more research on the subject
Hearns would have been devastated...and then Pachilles would reference this fight endlessly to cite just how overrated Roberto Duran is.
I just find it interesting, i typed hearns and tyson to try and find that press conference video and i came up with the article. Do u rckon hearns could have done it in '89? Then again...Hagler handed his ass to him
It's madness, Azzer. Could have done what? Nobody in their right mind would have allowed Hearns in the same ring with Mike Tyson, and if by some tragedy they did, Hearns would be visiting the big sleep.
Hearns weak jaw + Tysons powerful right and left = Very Brutal Stoppage Thankfully that fight never happen
He does have a point tho, maybe if he could keep tyson at the distance with his jab and drop the right often, after all he had the reach, he could pull it off Obv Tyson would kill him but still, Tyson during 89 i believe was ready to taken by a good boxer, people say he was prime but i think he looked awful against bruno and carl williams...if bruno had a better brain and stamina he might have pulled it off.
Stop it Azzer...please. These guys in the Classic will gouge out your eyes and skull **** you if you even contemplate the idea of Hearns keeping Mike Tyson at the end of his jab.
Hey Im A Tyson Fan til the end Tyson would kill him, but its interesting that he thinks he could take Tyson after watching the Tucker fight its late and im tired, my bad :nut
Tyson totally dominated Tony Tucker, I don't see why some people think he was troubled. Just imagine if Hearns had beaten Hagler on cuts and somehow got this fight after bulking up, i'm sure Don King would have absolutely loved to market it. Obviously the outcome would be Tyson via brutal KO1, but Tommy would get a great payday.
