Of course Sauerland can't possibly allow 'his' fighter to be on RTL instead of ARD. RTL has a contract with the Ks, so they can't be on anything else in Germany either... it's an impasse but I'm sure it could be solved given that Haye is really not a Sauerland fighter... but the question is whether Haye want the situation to get solved.

If you had any brains you'd understand that would be the beginning of the end of free TV... in a matters of years you would have to pay for ANYTHING, any little piece of sporting event you want to see... do you get that?

Sporting heroes... fook that, I don't want to pay for TV additionally if I'm already paying regular fee.

Premiere Pay TV tried premier league football in the 90s in Germany as a fee based product. It failed. People stopped watching live and watched it (for free) on tape delay. The station later went bankrupt.

FOOTBALL! In Germany! They tried, it didn't work. Like it or not, the Klitschkos nor Haye won't change that. Boxing is insignificant to football in Germany.

I didn't say that. I said Booth and Haye insisted 10 weeks ago that they'd be willing to fight if the Klitschkos made an offer that entails "50% of the entire purse".

It seems to me that Wlad listened, brought the offer and suddenly Booth and Haye change their tune and have just a couple more demands. You call it "being a smart businessman", I call it "not really interested in getting a fight made here and now". Plain and simple.

Boxing is insignificant to football in England too, the English Premier League is far, far bigger than the Bundesliga in Germany, and guess what? People over here pay out for Sky for the football and also PPV for the boxing.

Cultural difference perhaps, I can accept that but if a Haye fight generates £5 million in PPV's over here and WALDO wants half of that whilst surrendering peanuts for his German TV rights then I can see why team Haye weren't happy about it.

Not laughing, just explaining how things are. Like it or not, that's how the system is (in Germany) and change - if possible at all - would take years. Certainly longer than the remainder of Wlad's and Haye's career.

You could say that.....you could also say that all of a sudden WALDO was prepared to go 50-50 providing he got a big cut of PPV money that he wasn't generating because he wasn't banking on HBO sacking him and his brother. The timing is certainly interesting if you ask me.

Well if they're not happy about it then why was Booth on record saying they "insist on 50% of any purse" 10 weeks ago?

    http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...itschko-brothers-should-fight-each-other.html

To be honest I don't understand why they asked for it initially, and now suddenly they're unhappy about it? :think

So basically Haye should put a couple of million more in the pot than the other guy?

And weren't those demands read stated before it was clear ARD couldn't play a part?

Isn't it just the equivelant of HBO and Showtime in America? Again excuse my ignorance as to how German TV works but surely if HBO and Showtime can occasionally come to a deal RTL and ARD can too?

That doesn't make any sense. When was the last time Wlad was on HBO? Wlad - Ibragimov? Wlad has not been banking on HBO revenues in something like 2.5 years.

How is it 50% if the Brits are putting a ton more money in than the Krauts :huh

That's the point. The last time a contract was drawn up between these 2, Haye was getting 100% of the UK TV money, all of a sudden WALDO wants 50%?

I really don't think either of these guys want to fight right now if the truth be known, and when they do fight it's going to be a retirement fight for both of them. That's fair enough but all this stupid name-calling is bizarre.

But last time it wasn't known Haye could pull in 800k buys against someone like Valuev. Just like Mayweather underestimated Hattons PPV power in the UK and gave Ricky 100% of the UK, Hatton walked away with almost as much as he did:lol:
