I didn't say Haye should give up millions, Booth said he would. Remember Booth publicly said they just wanted "50% of any purse", then a deal could be made. The Klitschkos have an exclusive contract with RTL since 2007 (when Wlad left Sauerland). So yes, it was clear to Booth that if he's serious about getting a fight done with either brother then it can only happen with RTL broadcasting in Germany. The Klitschkos can not fight on any other German station without breaching their contract with RTL. Booth knew all this, he should have never said he is hoping for a fight with Wlad unless he accepted RTL broadcasting in Germany. RTL and ARD are (to my knowledge) comparable to ITV and the BBC in the UK. RTL is ad-financed much like ITV while ARD is a subsidized by the government much like the BBC.
Over here in the UK it's Haye, obviously. In Kraut-land it's WALDO, obviously. That's why I think the compromise offered by Booth is a fair one, WALDO keeps the money from his own people and Haye keeps the money from his own people. People are getting all bent out of shape about this because WALDO apparently offered a 50-50 purse as was requested but the fact is that he must know the kind of money Haye generates over here to make a demand like that, after a fair compromise had been offered. He's being greedy here, but so is Haye as he has 1 less belt than WALDO (don't give me any of that IBO ****)
Well then tell me what Booth meant when he said they insist on "50% of any purse"? He said that in April 2010, after the Ruiz fight. What exactly did he mean by that? Does "Haye wants 50% of any purse" actually mean that Haye wants 100% of UK PPV money? Maybe I skipped too many reading comprehension classes? :huh
Exactly. Haye would bring in huge numbers for this fight, that's the only reason the initial purse split has gone from 62-38 (as chef said) to 50-50, it's all about the TV money and WALDO wants a sniff of it but he ain't getting it. As you say, Haye is the one generating all that money in the UK therefore he should get it if WALDO isn't prepared to negotiate on the German TV.
Ah so it was requested and offered! We're making some progress here! Just a few weeks later Booth and Haye change their tune and say 50-50 isn't good enough any more? :think
To be honest FW belts don't mean much nowdays, look at Mayweather Baldo. Baldo was the champ, think he got the lions share? I know Wlad has cash coming in from other sources, if that's in the pot does it bring up his imput to that of Hayes?
Booth accepted RTL broadcasting in Germany, it was in the quote! He told team Klitschko that it was fine for them to show the fight on their channel in their own country and keep all the revenue providing Haye could do the same in his own country. At this point, WALDO refused....now why is that?
No, they said "OK if you're not prepared to move on the German TV then fine, you keep it and we'll keep the UK TV" Then team Klitschko exploded.
Haye does. But let me ask you another question that nobody here answered: If Haye knew he puts in more money in the pot, then why did him and Booth say (in April of 2010, after the Ruiz fight) that they want 50-50 of the pot. And now, 10 weeks later they suddenly change their tune and really want more than 50% of the total pot otherwise the fight can't be made. Oh shocker!
So Germans are tight and won't shell out for PPV, they're to blame. The end. Man I've got this business stuff down to a T.
I know belts don't mean much nowadays but maybe I'm getting old or something....the only belts I recognise are the WBA, the WBC and the IBF and that's it. WBO at a stretch but everyone knows that's a pretend strap, always has been. As for the IBO and the WALDO fans talking about him having 3 belts....:rofl:rofl:rofl The Mayweather point is a relevent one....WALDO has zero marketability at the moment, the only people that really want to watch him are the Krauts, and that's only because they get it for free, he's been a PPV disaster in the states because he bores the **** out of people, same in the UK, first time in my life I've known it that no-one gives a **** who the HW champ is. A fight with Haye would generate a ton of money purely down to the support for the home fighter, you know it.
This may be news to you, it's not news to Haye/Booth. This was all well known before Booth said in April that they will fight the Klitschkos as long as Haye was offered 50% of any purse. Obviously Booth is full of ****.
I do bud, that's why I fight his corner even though I'm pissed he isn't hunting down Vitali. With that said it would probably be the same deal with the same outcome.:-(
