I disagree. Bruno was no better than Cooper. Only nostalgia would make Bruno out to be more than he was.
I don't think he was particularly great, he was just a lot better than Cooper who was nothing more than an averagely skilled cruiser that was easily bashed up and cut. Bruno could stand toe to toe with Lennox Lewis and cause him problems with his jab, Cooper would be murdered out of sight if you put him infront of a good heavy, and indeed he was on numerous occasions.
There are a lot of factors involved in peoples thinking there presumably. Put Cooper in the ring with Bruno prime for prime he gets smashed. That's what I'm talking about.

Cooper generally came in in the high 180s with same day weigh ins and no weight limit. He'd be an exceptionally small CW or, realistically, a light heavyweight with today's weigh-in protocols and nutritional knowledge. Cooper v Cleverly?
Totally agree with your point on the weight advantage and size...:yep I think technically as well, Bruno had a fantastic jab and in my opinion for what it's worth he would have cut him to ribbons with it for a stoppage by the middle rounds or backed him up with a big right hand for an early KO...:yep
