Bob Arum told El Nuevo Dia ( PR newspaper) that Floyd has until next Friday to sign the contracts for a Pac fight. If that doesn't happen Manny will fight Cotto at 154 . Judging by Arum's comments looks like Margarito has been ruled out even though there were reports yesterday of team Pacman willing to fight Margarito outside the US. This was Arum's exact quote :

    Good. Better than margarito.

Better not be a catchweight though.

If it's at 154 then it's all good.

Just after the World Cup and a few days to let it settle. This is just last minute hype before they announce (hopefully).

Why would anybody pay to see him beat up on Cotto again? How about Martinez?

Id prefer Martinez or PW for the JMW title. I guess they are just looking for an 8th title but they should add another name to his resume rather than just recycling another one.

I just can't understand why Arum would even consider a rematch with Cotto. There are SEVERAL Top-Shelf, Elite-Level Fighters from 140lbs-154lbs....Bradley, Alexander, Berto, Martinez & Williams. But Arum and Pacquiao fans honestly believes that in the event that Pac/Floyd doesn't get signed, that a fight versus a fighter that Pacquiao already HANDILY BEAT is a viable fight...REALLY???

I wonder what the "knowledgeable" ESB forum would say if Floyd wanted a Mosley rematch or a rematch with Hatton if the Pacquiao/PBF deal can't get done...hmmmm? It's already bad enough that Arum and Roach chose to fight a fighter coming off a loss and held NO title in Clottey. Now their talking a proposed Rematch vs Cotto.

    A DAMN SHAME!!!!

Fighting Cotto again is pointless... 140, 147, 154.. doesn't matter.. Cotto is shot, and Pac would just **** him up again.

Paul Williams, Tim Bradley, **** it, even Kermit.

This^^^^^ I don't know how any real fan of boxing or Pacquiao would actually want to see this fight again. This is really a DAMN SHAME on so many levels!!!

Come on you think Manny is not going to make any demands? If this fight happens they have already mention a catchweight no higher than 151 and other private request witheld from the public...

I'd actually prefer Cotto vs Mayweather if May/Pac falls through.
