This could be the fight of the night on July 31st on the Marquez-Diaz rematch PPV! It could even be a FOTY candidate!

    versus

    [yt]_kNXYYtEZh8[/yt]

Stand-up European-style meat and potatoes with a liberal dash of flavorful bodypunching spice versus the sweet candy that is "American black boy" slickness.

    Whose "0" will go?

I thought the same, he's not really a 'typical' Euro fighter, pretty far from it imo.

I've heard Pirog compared to Mayweather, with his movement, and counterpunching. Many experts leaning toward Pirog UD, but I say toss up

I've only seen on Pirog fight and that was against Kofi Jantuah. Pirog was anything but the European style. He fights out of Philly shell really well. Stays in the pocket, makes you miss, and makes you pay. I dig this fight a lot. I enjoy watching both fighters, but I guess I'm rooting for Pirog!?

He does incorporate elements of traditional Euro stand-up boxing at times, but yes he's quite unorthodox on the whole.

He and Jacobs both go to the body well, and neither gets very sloppy in the pocket.

This is going to be savage! :ibutt

pirog seems to know how to do the shoulder roll and appear like mayweather...he just don't know how to use it.

Danny Jacobs stops pirog in an exciting fight.

Opinions seem pretty evenly split. Let's hope the match itself lives up to that standard. :good

It's about time that the new crop of middleweights starts fighting each other. Jacobs, Pirog, Lemieux, N'Dam, Golovkin, Korobov, Lee, McEwan. In a year, it's gonna be so much fun to watch!:bbb

Doesn't seem to be as much interest in this fight as i thought it would. I think it's gonna be a barburner, and way more interesting than the main event

Pirog has got a university degree and promotes his own fighters. After watching plenty of American fighters, he incorporated some elements in his own style. That makes him a force to be reckoned with. His style simply is beautiful to watch. Extremely active, but never forcing the action. Lethal bodyshots and sweet uppercuts. He seems a tad slower than Jacobs, this is the only disadvantage I see. Therefore I go with a ud for Pirog.
