The latest rumour is on the scene. It says Arum and Roach both think Pavlik is shot. They want to use KP to build Junior up.

Even if Pavlik struggles with the weight, IMO (assuming that means he puts in more or less the same type of performance as against Martinez) he has to be favored to knock Chavez out.

Chavez has greatly improved his defense and his ring awareness, and stepped up his offensive game against Duddy under the tutelage of Roach and Ariza...but Duddy still hit him. Duddy hit him with the same kind of shots that Pavlik favors. Pavlik hits MUCH, MUCH harder than Duddy.

If Chavez comes forward and tries to be aggressive, he's giving Pavlik exactly what he wants.

The question will become "How well can the new and improved Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. fight backing up"?

If he can still only fight as well backing up as he did against the shorter and smaller Luciano Cuello, who bullied him against the ropes in almost every round - he is going to get Edison Miranda'ed by Kelly.

If he's got some new tricks up his sleeve, things could get interesting.

I don't know. Look at Mundine as he goes down the ladder. Kelly may well be giving up power trying to stay at 160. Had he maintained? That might have been a different story. Time will tell....
