Amazed this fight got signed, what a great match-up. So rarely these days do we get 2 undefeated young fighters facing each other, can't wait to see it.

It is really hard for a foreigner in the US to win a decision vs. an American, so even if Pirog wins a close decision he'll most likely get robbed. Jacobs is being built up by HBO and Golden Boy as the next big thing around 160 - and they might be right - but that's a hell lot of pressure on the judges.

I view this superb match-up as a genuine 50-50 fight, and all I'm hoping for if fair treatment, because whoever comes out on top could be one of the major players around MW for many years.

He fights a lot like the Ulli Wegner-style fighters (Abraham, Huck, Murat, Gevor, etc.), only he uses upper body movement to avoid punches instead of shelling up (which, granted, isn't a very European way of fighting).

Anyway, I'm very interested in this fight, but unless Jacobs has mental lapses, I can't see this one being very exciting at all. Jacobs will be on the defensive all fight, and frankly he doesn't have a very exciting style to begin with - just an effective one.

Excited about the fight still though. It's rare to see two guys this evenly matched fight this early in their careers. I suspect both of them will be in the middleweight top 10 for a long time after this. Them, together with Golovkin, Lemieux, Korobov and N'Jikam, are the future of the division.

I think body punching will be a major factor in this fight. :nod

Great point. I definitely think he will try soften Jacobs by going to the body in the early rounds and slow him down.

Very True, reminds me of RJJ & B-hop 1 - two legends before prime who would go on to do great things.

Jacobs is lot more fun to watch than Pirog.

I don't blame Sergio for chasing the more winnable and bigger money fights at 160 instead of mixing it up with these young lions. Either Jacobs or Pirog could be tough for him, compared to Sturm or Pavlik in a rematch.

Never seen Pirog fight (other than that vid), but Jacobs was made very uncomfortable by Ishe Smith's skills and roughness. He's going to have to be on his A-game. Jacobs is a jack of all trades master of none type...I don't see any elite skill or trait that wows me. I'm curious to see if he improves.

man I'm stoked for this fight way more than I am for the Diaz vs Marquez rematch. Pirog looks to be the goods. Not typical euro style at all

I don't think Pirog got touched in that video. Defently not a typical stiff European.
