Barry Hearn is thinking of new ideas to freshen the event. Why not have an 8 National International Event?

    Imagine:
    1. England - David Price
    2. Ireland - Kevin McBride
    3. Cuba - Mike Perez
    4. Australia - Solomon Haumono
    5. Belarus - Alexander Ustinov
    6. Germany -Timmo Hoffman
    7. USA -Vinny Maddalone
    8. Poland - Andrew Golota
A mix of prospects & old names could make a massive event. You could apply this model at any weight and come up with some great events

With international TV it could work but the prize money would have to be about £300k-£400k to entice that entry list. Golota is a little past it and McBride lost at the weekend so i'd replace them. Great idea but doubt it would happen.

I highly doubt your going to do a 300k prize. Thats more than Kevin Mitchell and will have got for the katsidis fight.

it's a nice idea. I'd love to see it happen.
I have been wondering about a north vs south bill. have team captain's and have 6-8-10 and maybe even a 12 rounder if there's a champion on team. It be interesting night. Could do England vs Scotland etc. I think they make for good viewing as long as fights are evenly matched.

Have a welterweight prize fighter in each of the 8 countries, then the winners of each prize fighter go into the international prize fighter :smoke

would thin out the **** and the standard might be alright by the end :think

    Its a nice idea.

It would be good to see 8 countries all have individaul prizefighter tournaments, then have the winners all face off in an international prizefighter, with the winner gaurenteed to have a world title shot.

    Would be interesting

For Prizefighter it depends on the draw. If the quarter finals were:
    1. Price v McBride
    2. Hoffman v Haumono
    3. Maddelone v Golota
    4. Ustinov v Perez
    Would you still pick Perez?

Sounds like a good idea, whether it will get off the ground or not i'm not sure but Barry Hearn is definitly the man to make it happen.

I think any new ideas that will raise the profile of the sport and provide good entertainment have to be encouraged or else the sport will disappear of TV completley.
