Jones UD. But I'm one of the people who believe Jones wouldn't have it all his own way, especially in the early rounds...I think Calzaghe's style would cause some trouble for Jones early on. But I'd expect Jones to pull off a UD.
nobody knows because he never had a defining fight. but jones was destroyed mentally by then and if you've ever fought you'll know how important taht is. it's not coincidence calzaghe fought jones and hopkins when he did.
He didn't catch him with a punch though...Jones caught him with the forearm. Calzaghe did well to get up.
even i would look good against Telesco, look at some of his other fights and who he lsot to, he was ****, even i would look special fighting him....well ok...not me....but even reggie strickland would look like sugar ray
He was never a puncher...but if his hands didn't **** up, I'd expect him to have been punching a lot harder, and maybe finished off a few more of his opponents.
you can pull a fight for just about any fighter where he doesn't look good. jones often messed around in the ring and didn't come out to steamroll his opponents as he could have done. it's bad form to isolate one fight that a GREAT fighter didn't dominate. anyone who's impartial knows that both jones and calzaghe are world class fighters, so i don't see the reasoning for using one fight to make a point. doesn't work like that.
because there wasn't anyone willing to beat LHW ranked fighters to stand up and earn their shot at him. how hard do you think it would have been for joe to get there?
