Sonnen's great. He has been quite brutally honest. I'll paraphrase but he said if Chael Sonnen can't get this to the ground then Chael Sonnen gets beaten up.

Sonnen makes me believe. Its more fun supporting the underdog but Sonnen and myself may get a brutal wake up call.

Nevertheless, I'm on the Sonnen express train. Choo choo.

I would quite like for it to be true but there is no way Sonnen wins. If he takes Silva down he gets submitted and if he stands with him he gets knocked out.

 

Has AS ever fought such a pedigree wrestler before?? I think as AS frame is not that big and nobody knows what his cardio is like as of late, Chael will impose himself and psuh AS up against the cage and matt and just wear him down.

I am all aboard the Sonnen train though I think it will end up hitting the Silva Wall.

I would love for Sonnen to win because Anderson is an arsehole and needs beating up but I'd rather not get my hopes up and then be depressed come August 7 I'm afraid, I managed to convince myself Maia was going to flying armbar him so I'm not gonna do it again

 

Also, Anderson Silva is one of the biggest Middleweights easily. He's 6'2, cuts from 220 and can move up to 205 with ease. I doubt Chael will be able to impose himself with ease.

 

Anderson Silva is only there to pad up his fight record. If he truely wanted to challenge himself then he should have gone back to Japan where fighters actually wants to fight with him. In the UFC Anderson has a perfect record, against Japanese fighters Anderson has 3 wins and 3 looses.

Senator Sonnen will not be denied.

 

I'd be very surprised to see Sonnen attempt any semblance of a sub. IF Sonnen were anything like Takase, he would have a shitload of submission victories in his career.. Takase was attempting some difficult subs, and had a beautiful setup for that triangle, something even Matt Hughes would eat his heart out over.

We know Sonnen is no Matt Hughes on the ground.

Hendo doesn't fight as a wrestler. And Sonnen is a much better wrestler than a 39yo Hendo anyway.

Silva has never faced anyone like Sonnen. One of the best wrestlers in the sport will be ankle biting him for every minute hes in the fight...I'm as interested in this fight as I have been in any UFC match for a while.
