Maidana to face DeMarcus Corley next

Yeah but Maidana hasn't been speaking the same amount of **** as Khan.

Did anyone else read Khans comments in Boxing Monthly? Slagging off Alexander and every other fighter at the weight. It was horrible. Im all for a boxer showing confidence but he came across very poorly in that interview.

Exactly. Khan hasn't faced any opponents at 140 (and 135 really) that could trouble him for his particular style, yet Maidana, with all his technical deficiencies, has shown a willingness to take on 'dangerous' opposition.

Okay, this fight is poor. But Khans last couple of figths have hardly been awe-inspring. The Paulie fight was so set up to favour Khan stylistically I gave him barely any kudos for beating a top five fighter.

 

What Cayo and Ortiz, wouldn't call them dangerous.

The argument as I understand it is that we should give Maidana more respect as he's rubbish, so we should admire him for taking on dangerous opposition like Kotelnik, whereas we should condemn Khan for cherry picking easy opposition like Kotelnik?

 

But Maidana just needs a big name American opponent, someone who can build his name up over there. Corley's an ex-world champion, isn't he? And he wears outlandish costumes into the ring, doesn't he?

Maidana is still young and learning, so let him grow into the division. The big fights with Alexander and Bradley are just around the corner. After this he could even rematch Prescott, oops.........I mean he could rematch Kotelnik.:smooch
