On September 11 2010, WBA regular Champion Yuriorkis Gamboa will battle Dominican WBC Champion Elio Rojas. Well, we all know Yuriorki's attributes by now, does the Dominican stand a chance against El Ciclón de Guantánamo? Or will this be another blow out for Gamboa?

    VOTE!!!

I say Gamboa in less than 4 rounds by nasty KO!!!

Gamboa UD, but it won't be a one-sided beating. More like 116-112.

    Who is Elio Rojas?
What style and does he have anything Gamboa would have to worry about?

Of course you would, as the bias in your name states.

I take it the fight will be slower than Gamboa's used to, he'll get countered more than he has before, Rojas is a skilled defensive opponent. May be a KD on both sides but I can see Gamboa reaching deep down and stopping him in 11. If Gamboa can't stop him, then we may see a SD, and THAT may go either way judging how Gamboa takes Rojas' counter-punching.

Gamboa wins easy.. Rojas has nothing. He's a B level fighter with a title.

If and Argentinian taxi driver won some rounds and last until the final round I'm not surprised if this fight is harder for him. Still this Rojas guy is a very weak champion He didn't even impress in beating a extremely shot and weak chinned Guty Espadas.

The Taxi driver was 28-0, and he barely won a round. Gamboa was bored with him, seems to me that he wanted to go 12 rounds that night. Either way, Gamboa played with him and knocked him down, did'nt finish him because he was not interested. :-(

Gamboa like to KO his opponents and like to impress saying that stuff prove that you are biased. This bum won a few rounds too.

True, Gamboa does like to KO his opponents, but it looked to me he just didn't push for the KO in the later part and was satisfied with just outboxing him for the distance. Sure his a bum but he was a tough bum.
No shame in going the distance in my opinion, especially when he did put a dominant performance.

Sometimes it's good to put some rounds in expecially after repeated early round stoppages. Gamboa should have no problems against Rojas. I havn't seen much of Rojas, but the little I have seen does not impress me.

Rojas is average guy, more on the tall side with good accuracy and medium power. basically a pretty polished average fighter. i think gamboa's style is something he's never seen so he will get KOed. I agree, less than 4 rounds. Rojas is sound defensively, but he can't avoid all gamboas punches when he corners him and lets his hands go

Hey guys, don't understimate Rojas, he's a very dangerous fighter on this division, I say he's top 5!

This will be a war from start to finish, you'll see!

Who knows right now this is a step up in class for gamboa. Rojas is a good boxer but not a great puncher so he'll have to outbox Gamboa for 12rds but it'll be hard since Gamboa is the more known name and will get the close decision easily. On a second note Gamboa has looked good against B level opposition and sometimes has look average against that same Blevel opposition. Rojas is not a great champion but is a good champion with boxing skills so Gamboa has to come ready to fight. If rojas is motivated and comes in prepared i see him losing a split decision if not he'll lose a UD to Gamboa. But it wouldnt suprise me to see Rojas take a decision from Gamboa.
