Im glad im not the only one who feels this way.

Doesnt want to rematch on the basis he cant make middleweight comfortably anymore but the opportunity to fight an easy fight for a good payday comes up and all of a sudden he can make the weight again.

Pavlik will always remain a one hit wonder.

    I'm not that surprised that this is happening. Let's look at the options that were thrown out at Pavlik since the Martinez fight;

Option#1 - Rematch Martinez. This would almost certainly result in Pavlik getting his ass kicked again. As such, the can't make the weight anymore excuse was used.

Option#2 - Go to 168. If Pavlik did this, he would probably have to face Andrade. If he managed to win this fight, he would probably then have to fight Bute. This would almost assuredly result in Pavlik getting destroyed.

Option#3 - Fight Dawson at 175. Obviously, this is a terrible idea.

Option#4 - Fight Chavez Jr. at 160, and hire a nutrionist in order to stop people from asking why he's returning to 160 despite saying he couldn't make the weight anymore.

Clearly option 4 is the most attractive option for Pavlik. To tell you the truth though, this is no gimmie fight for Pavlik. The kid might just beat him. Chavez Jr. is a rising tide while Pavlik is a falling star. Pavlik's attendence numbers are shrinking, he's not a ppv attraction, and he would probably get destroyed by all the noteworthy fighters above 160 and also by Martinez. This is Top Rank's chance to push Chavez Jr. into main event status while cutting their losses with Pavlik.

I'll say this -- Pavlik ain't no coward. It's not him at fault; it's his management. Arum and his advisors don't have to get in there and take those shots.

Respect for anybody who gets in that ring should be a given, not to mention a former undisputed champion. Not believing in yourself is one thing, but cowards don't get in the ring and win belts.

say what you will about chavez, but he had a nutritionist prior to the martinez fight. also, the article that started this whole slew of pav at 160 threads did not say he was staying. it said they would consult a nutritionist so see if it was feesible. if it's not then he won't.

also, there are a lot of people he can beat at 168. bute aint one of them but then again, bute may be the best there is at 168.

Its odd but on ESB Kelly Pavlik nuthuggers make stupid threads like '24 hours until Sergio Martinez leaves the ring on a stretcher'and'Kelly Pavlik logs in the worst performance of his career'rather than admit their fighter is limited.

Name some noteworthy ones. I think Kessler, Froch, Dirrell, Bute and Ward all beat him. Andrade, Bika, and Abraham would all have a fair chance at winning as well.

Nutritionist: The first thing we need to do, is to get you to stop drinking.

    Pavlik: You're Fired!

The guys who vehemently criticize Pavlik's title run at 160 are the same guys who criticize him for expressing an interest in staying there and taking care of business.

The guys who claim Pavlik "won't do **** above 160" are the same guys who insist he needs to move up.

The guys who nuthug the super six are the same guys who get pissed off if someone points out that most of those guys made their bones against Pavlik's left overs, and/or fighters who lost to Pavlik's left overs.

The guys who insist that Pavlik should be gunning for a Bute fight are the same guys who claim "Pavlik hasn't looked good above 160."

The guys who always said "Pavlik is over rated" are the same guys who keep trying to turn Martinez into a boxing god because he beat Kelly Pavlik.

If it comes right down to the bottom line, I'd bet good money that not more than 20% of the posters currently talking **** kept up with the news. It's all just "a lot of sound and fury signifying nothing."

    no... esb logic

pavlik gets beat the **** up (take a pic bhop or martinez)
    makes excuses (I'm sick / I can't make weight / I wasn't feeling right)
claims 160 is out of the question any more (both for bhop & martinez)
lays low for a couple of months after the destruction
comes back to teh weight he previously claimed he couldn't make and takes challenges against bums (rubio / espino / lockett / chavez JR) and skips the true fights that he SHOULD BE fighting ( Arthur Abraham / winky wright / felix sturm / paul williams / sergio martinez rematch )
continues fighting cab drivers until everyoen starts calling him out for his bull **** and his moronic fans question their existence
    he takes a real fight (bhop/martinez/paul williams/bute/andrade)
gets his ass beat like a *****

    repeat process

were tired of it.... FIGHT A REAL OPPONENT OR GET THE F*** OUTA HERE!!
