Hard to say. I liked how Cotto came back from a crushing loss to get a new belt at a higher weight against a fighter who a great deal of people said would outbox him into a UD. Instead he outboxed Foreman, in impressive fashion. Everyone said he was shot and done and he and steward proved them wrong. Good ****. I also liked Pongsaklek doing work on Kameda to unify and get the Ring title. Dude proved he is a force. coming in 3rd to me is a tie between FMJ's dominant performances over a seriously bloated marquez and a shadow of a mosley(granted, they were once great fighters but it's clear to me they aren't anything what they used to be, especially mosley), and Paul Williams edging out Sergio for a FotY contender. The ESPY period is annoying though, because i think that a lot of good fights are still to come in the fall/winter, including donaire-montiel, pac/mayweather, sergio/williams II, khan-maidana, bradley-alexander, ward-dirrell etc... honestly ward deserves a nod too for the completely dominant green and kessler wins imo
What do you expect from an award that was probably decided before July, otherwise they won't be awarding it this soon. The award should be for Best Fighter for 2010.50 in which there is not much candidates to choose from as there are still other big fights slated for the rest of 2010. Is that an invented award as I can not recall any previous awardees?
:roflPacq only won it when Mayweather was retired.:roflSort of like the P4P title.:rofl It's still just an award though,I don't remember ever caring about any award Ali won. It's all about fighting in the ring.
I thought he doesn't have any fans, so everyone who buys his fights must just hate him hoping he loses?:rofl Good for boxing that he beat the UFC fighter. The star of a "dying" sport edged out a man on top of UFC in a popularity contest.
That ass whipping he put on SSM was the mega fight of the year. Not to say that there were not other great scraps, but no other fight had as much build up. Other than the fight that didn't happen... Mayweather/Pac.
