I have a fight in about 2 weeks july 31st and I just injured my right arm. Is it possible to fight with only my left? I'm orthodox btw, about 5'9 150lbs.

I figure with good head movement and footwork I can get in with some jabs and left hooks to the body and head, maybe some feints with my right arm but I think I'll have to mostly keep my right hand by my face.

It really sucks cause I won't be able to use combinations. I'm a pressure fighter I usually get in close or force my opponent to the ropes and use combinations with both hands so this is going to be tough if I have to rely mostly on my jab.

How should I train for this? When my opponent notices I'm injured what should I expect? I guess he'd circle to my right

expect to get destroyed if your opponent is half decent. I injured my left shoulder about 2 weeks before a fight i pulled out! No way am i getting in the ring half fit lol!

I don't expect to win but I'll put up a fight even if I know I'm gonna lose. Are you orthodox? I think without the jab anyone will get destroyed, but I think I can at least put up a fight if I focus on improving my jab and left hook.

Yeah if your good enough you can do it. Jab and run easy peasy lemon squeezy.

My coach (a current fighter) had two fights the same night once, in the first (a martial arts fight) he broke his right hand but fought in the second fight (boxing) and just used one arm and won, he was however much better than his opponent.

    What is your current record?

yeh i am orthodox so yeh that wouldnt help! personally i would never fight without being 100% getting injured in the fight is different you have to keep going! But you dont get a medal for getting your head punched in. Anyways up to you like the other two said theres always the stories of people doing it :good

not sure if I'm good enough to be honest, which is why I'm asking for some advice here on what I should do and how I should train the next two weeks.

This is my second fight with about a year experience. I won my first a month ago by decision. I don't know much about the guy I'm fighting but he's orthodox and experienced.

last week i sparred with someone and my coach asked me to use my left only. my opponent was told to go 100%.

after 3 rounds i was so tired. i parried, blocked, ran, slipped, ducked, pivoted non stop. i jabbed with my left, hooked with my left, uppercutted with my left and pushed him off with my left.

i got hit with alot of stuff too, lol.

but it was a very helpful experience. i felt totally in control on the outside and the only time he got me was when i stepped in or got caught on the ropes (we were in the small ring so this happened more than usual).
