12 rounds. More is not always better.
12 is enough to test anyone's endurance.
In 12 rounds also gives a sense of urgancy. In a close fight you can give away more rounds in a15 round fight and get away with a win than in a 12 round fight.
There is also the issue of safety. Most long term injuries in boxing happen due to being hit offten. 12 rounds means 9 less minnuets per fight of potitionaly being hit.

By your reasoning they should make all fights 4 rounds...

15 rounds is better, and the change was bull****. People have died in 12 rounds too.

I think of fights like Bernard Hopkins vs Joe Calzaghe where the pace of the fight changed the longer the fight went on.

I also think of fights like Glen Johnson vs Dawson where an extra three rounds would have probably seen Dawson sat down and out.

barrera-morales 1 was amazing i ****ing love that fight, 3 more rounds in that fight would of been epic
on the other hand 3 more rounds in the wlad-ibragimov fight would be tragic, i was so bored in that fight i could of cried..
iv grown up with 12 rounds and never had a problem with them so 12 it is for me...

You do 15 rounders now, all I think it would mean is that guys would pace themselves slower.

I really don't think there's much appreciable difference now. You may get some 13-15 round stoppages that you wouldn't have had before, but generally it won't have a big impact I don't think.

12 rounds is plenty. I understand why fans would want to see a 15 round bout, but to me, rounds 13-15 are overkill and can take years off of a fighters career.

Fighters are bigger, stronger and faster these days. 15 rounds just isn't smart.

15 rounds is the way it should be, the championship rounds (13-15) are where the great fighers really shine, guys like Bobby Chacon and Pryor in the Arguello fight. If Chavez vs Taylor, De la Hoya vs Trinidad and Bute vs Andrade had been scheduled for fifteen there would have been no controversy.

Since most fighters fight only 2 or 3 times a year these days, 15 rounds would be no more dangerous.
