My guess is that they are probably on holiday? I do miss Ardy's roundup of the Irish boxing related links:verysad
It seems that our hopes of Froch v Abraham taking place in Dublin are gone. Looks like it will be in Monaco in Oct
Sturm back September 4th,Wonder if any of our guys are in line,I reckon Macklin is busy, Duddy still nursing but Lee could be ideal for Sturm a low ranking guys that Sturm thinks he could eat handy......I just think he could be in for a shock if he picks Andy.
Kieran Farrell is back in the ring in September - link also contains YouTube video of a recent sparring session http://boxing-ireland.com/20100715_farrell_fight_34.html
The Irish Boxing Supporters Club are considering running a bus from Belfast to the DolPhil show on August 7th in Dublin's City West. Price £45 for bus and ticket. Contact Cormac, Bobby or myself if interested. This content is protected 07890 066463 This content is protected This content is protected
------------------------------------------------- I am not getting my hopes up but check this out - http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=24453&more=1 Now if it was Lee I would book my annual leave first thing and get over to Germany straight away. But like I said - wishful thinking!
Im sorry to put a downer on things but Dan rafael has said that Sturm will fight Marco antonio rubio on september and not Andy lee. Hard luck not this time. (to be confirmed next week)
Was it just me the only 1 who thought Matt Hatton was lucky to win that fight? 1 judge had him winning by 7 rounds and the other 2 had it by 5 rounds what a ****ing joke. I thought it would of been a split decision with Hatton just loosing.
Tony I know it was a real pick em fight to be fair to both and you could show that fight to 100 people and it would be 50-50 on who would win it. Hatton for a World Title fight say that out loud and people would send the men with the white coats for you. Not even up to standard at British level yet could get a World title shot.
Eastside's very own Califorina party boy BigEars tells us about Macklin forming his coaching Dream Team in the first of a two parter http://boxing-ireland.com/20100715_team_macklin_35.html and Dundalks Michael Kelly wants a slice of Gavinpie! http://boxing-ireland.com/20100717_michael_kelly_frankie_gavin_36.html
Cant see Kelly beating Gavin,Mike was a vey good amateur but he never really turned it on as a pro.Maybe he's due a big performance.I have been impressed with Gavin though and dont really understand the criticism aimed at his performances so far.Still this would be a good match for the Irish title on a major card.
