How can it hurt his legacy? It can change your opinion of him as a boxer. But it can't drop his legacy any by not fighting.

It depends because he could well fight him next year, or he could take the MW title from Martinez.

Either way if he doesn't fight again his legacy stays the same as it was before

That's a different question to the one you asked originally.
Bottom-line is: certain sections of fans will argue the point endlessly.

    omds you dont lose legacy.

evander holyfireld has won the world title 4 times, should be 5 if you count the valuev robbery

nobody will ever do that again in my eyes. he has lost multiple ties now to fighters he wold have pissed on 15 years ago.

tell me does all this take anything away from the fact that he has fought a number of atg and hall of famers.

no it doesnt. you ****ing people who nly jumped on boxin sice pac beat oscar are dragging the forum and this sport down by goig on like you know ****

    now please **** off

spud - the way you openly hug Mayweather's nuts on a daily basis could have people thinking that you've only been watching Boxing since Mayweather beat Mosley.

man there are alot of irrational people on here...so lemme get this right, when arum/manny & co. doesnt accept floyds demands he's justified in doing so? but when floyd doesnt accept arums demands then he is a scared chicken?

He'll be in the hall of fame.
He'll stay in the top 60 p4p atg list.

If this fight never happens because of this then it will haunt him for his entire career in my opinion, even in the long run when he's done and retired people will bring that up whenever his career is mentioned. If they don't sign then I think it is fair to say that they don't want to fight Pacquiao.

I do as well but you also have to take into consideration what they don't do. This won't take away from anything that floyd has done but it will seriously hurt his legacy as it will make him look like a ducker.

at the same time you cant expect every fighter to face all the ones in the game and the ones coming up

that is like saying ali had to face evander holyfierld in after he won the olympics when he had lost to holmes earlier.

its like saying oscar de la hoya has to fight sergio martinez now

and its like saying b hop has to fight chad dawson

    when he should just retire

Your understanding of boxing is very embarrassing and limited.

Of course it will hurt his legacy, it's all about fighting the best guys in your era. Who else will he fight unless he moves up to middleweight for Martinez and Martinez is already booked, there's no one in the middleweight division either.
