Obviously what you are suggesting is far too subjective to have a percentage attached to it. I bet a poster of similar quality to yourself on another day on here will make an equally impassioned argument that it's 30-70 the opposite way. Who cares.

and if you analyze the fight, couldnt you make sense of what leonard was saying? it not rocket science all you have to do is listen and ask yourself, is what this guy is saying, does it make sense.

What am i getting at? Me holding back because modern fighters get zero respect here.

I'm NOT referring to everyone, but i'm holding back so much mainly because i haven't had the time to sit here doing it all, it will take forever.

One example, nobody batting an eyelid at Antonio Cervantes breaking down and stopping Zab Judah on the jab.

Well read my earlier post in response to El Bujia and that's my long standing analysis.

Because I know if Duran had won in the same circumstances we'd be crowning it the greatest victory of all time. I know if Leonard had quit and blamed it on stomach cramps, we'd have the majority of posters here condemning him and not allowing the man any excuses of any kind.

If you're going to keep mocking me for my stance then there's no point discussing this with me. Anyone would have thought with reading the Classic's views on Leonard that the guy was actually a promoter...and never even put on a pair of gloves.

I care...nobody cares, that's part of the problem. We don't tell Duranimal to **** off...like you normally would anyone else Popkins...we just say..."ahhh....what a character".

You've not touched one of his ignorant posts...why not? That's what you do Popkins. You shout people down who come out with crap like that....why not this time?

:huh If Duran beat a naturally smaller, lower weight fighter, who was older and slower than him, we would crown it the greatest victory of all-time? I think you're taking this a bit far.

    Addie-

Floyd Mayweather did better at 130 than what Tyson did pre-jail

Now you have a look at how some people rate the two on here. INSANITY.

....The Hagler victory? So If Duran was a natural Welterweight, ****ed off for three years, comes back and beats a Middleweight who hadn't lost for 11 years we'd be full of praise...and there's be no mention of the stipulations. That's always the emphasis when the fight is brought up....not what Leonard actually achieved. It's bull****.

Where do you rate the two fighters?

I hear what you're saying about modern fighters...and I feel the same way...

Because I don't see the conspiracy that you seem to. I see people all the time on this forum belittling Duran, saying he was the worst of the Fab Four because he was 1-4 against them, saying he is the most overrated fighter in history, saying he was a quitter, etc etc etc. I think there are every bit as many sceptics as there are apologists. Easily. If not more.

So when I see someone giving him some love, I have no desire to crush it. Every fighter has their two sides on here. And, ultimately, Duran was an amazing fighter who deserves his adoration. I take issue with fighters who are showered with adulation that I don't think deserve it.

well, you can you do about that. you always have to take into account that there are posters who are simply biased. thats how it is. to get the record staright, its duran own fault that he was out of shape for the rematch. he use the same excuse when hearns damn near killed. to be honest, duran doesnt need any sympathy while he may not have in shape, it was leonard, who fought the right fight, frustrating duran, which led to him quitting. leonard deserved all the credit as does his win with hagler. you cant fault a man for doing what he has to do to win. thats what any athlete is suppose to do. all in all, both men are atg and deserve respect

And you have something to say to everyone of those people who belittle Duran...

I'm not going to continue discussing this with you though. You think I'm imagining all of this...as is Pachilles...then that's fine.

Well i'd rather we take people on on that front than the Duran thing, but i can compromise?

Tyson, i put him in my top ten on the heavyweight top ten sticky thread, i'm starting to think otherwise. Mayweather is my number one at 130. Tyson, i loved the ground he walked on and still do, too many memories of getting me into boxing as a kid, and that wasn't even prime Tyson, but all this bull**** about 88 Tyson has pissed me right off.
