:nono Nobody is ducking Haye, ****, even Audley wants a crack at that paper maché chin of Haye's.................:yep
true but i wouldn't build briggs up to be anything...he was last relevant in 1997. even when he was "champion", he was a joke.
I agree that Briggs hasn't done anything to deserve the fight but why not? It's not like there are many other options. Briggs is still a good name on the resumé and a former lineal champion isn't he?
yup, it's a decent name in a decent keep busy fight. it's ****ed but other than solis, is there anybody to fight? and if solis did pass, is there anybody at all willing to fight the brothers? in the ring top 10 we have: 1-vitali 2-haye (chicken **** who won't fight) 3-povetkin (signed to fight wlad) 4-adamek (decent fight for either klit) 5-chagaev (last got his ass kicked by wlad) 6-chambers (see above) 7-boytsov (best fight imo for the klits) 8-valuev (pathetic joke who passed on the fight) 9-dimitrenko (ass kicked by number 6...) 10-arreolo (no right to be ranked in the top 10) So we have exactly 2 "viable" opponents in adamek and boytsov. **** my life
It seems like Vitali is more avoided than Wlad, and it makes a lot of sense. Beat Vitali and you are ranked #2. Beat Wlad and you are probably going to be considered #1, and get more belts for it. Plus, despite WK being better now, there is the slim chance of a lucky KO. Lose-lose situation for Vit now. He's proved himself after making his comeback, now he should just bury Shannon Briggs and retire a belt holder
I'm not sure there's a better fight to be made. Clearly Haye or Valuev would be preferable but they are ducking. In Valuev's case, its not clear if its SNV or VK to blame...but given that Don King represents SNV the smart money is on Valuev obstructing the fight. Re. Solis, even if Solis wanted the fight, Solis hasn't proven himself and has been 20 pounds + overweight in his last 2 fights. Similarly, if Adamek or Dimitrenko or Botsoyov wanted the fight they would be better choices, but there is no indication any of these guys want Vitali. Briggs is the only one out there that actually actively wants the Klits and accuses the Klits of ducking him. By signing up to fight Briggs, Vitali is demonstrating that he ducks no one. Hopefully Briggs can make the first few rounds interesting.
Exactly. Everyone needs to pump their brakes and ****in step back and realize the bro's ko have raped and pillaged the hw division, and those in the top 15 that werent raped refused to fight. The Klitschko's take on all comers put in the ring, and the outcome is ALWAYS the same nowadays, a lopsided W in their favor. I mean how can you really hate on that, it's not their fault the HW ranks are terrible.
honestly, if this is the best he can do right now then he should call it a day and retire. he is only clouding peoples judgement about who the worlds best heavyweight by hanging around, so do the right thing vitali and hang 'em up. no one wants to see this ****.
Aside from Holyfield I think Briggs has the most recognizable name to the casual American boxing fan. Hey I think it's an interesting fight. :bbb:good Vitali by TKO. :hat
Briggs has done absolutely nothing to merit a title shot, he's been fighting guys with shocking records in small halls for years now. Even in a **** division, this is pathetic. I hope Briggs lands a Hail Mary and knocks Vitali out, serve him right. This, coming on the back of Sosnowski and Johnson, is ****ing unacceptable from a heavyweight champion.
Thank you David Haye and N. Valuev for turning down larger pay days. I heard Solis is not in shape right now, and Boystov is too young. Not sure if Adamek was given an offer or not. The Klitschko's have beaten most of the top guys in the WBC already. Briggs as a former champion with a name is not a bad sub. He'll catch a flight to Germany and get stopped, but at least he is willing to get in the ring vs. a 39 year old champion. The others are tying to join the WBA circus.
