You thought pointing out Floyd losing a few rounds to Jesus Chavez was note worthy...I obviously don't think it was and I'm now mocking you. :good
I dislike him, for sure. Both soberly and when drinking. I think he is overrated as well, though not the most overrated ever, not close to that. He is a genuinely great fighter.
Look at Pintor's resume, was he inconsistent? Barrera lost twice to Jones, one was debatable, and virtually everybody had him winning the first Morales fight. Other than that, he lost to Pacquiao and Marquez....two fighters who have been in the top 3 P4P for the last 3-4 years. :good
I'm glad your campaign to rid the world of Duran apologists permits you time to attempt to mock people. And if a fighter's most difficult fight at a certain weight is not noteworthy when discussing his merits at that weight, then what is exactly? :think
Yeah,i didn't realise you were asking me that, i thought you meant who'd wina fight between the two, so i would favour Barrera but the inconsistency (on Barrera's part)might throw my confidence, is all i meant. Barrera is clearly greater. I had Zarate beating Pintor though.
I just think maybe we could gauge the quality of both Floyd and Manny by evaluating how many rounds they both lost in the last 7 years respectively? Manny lost two rounds to Cotto...but he still devastated him. Barrera lost maybe...maybe 4 rounds to Hamed? The reason we mention it with Floyd is...is because he isn't accustomed to losing a minute of any round...and that's impressive.
This is my point...why are you saying Marco is inconsistant but Lupe isn't? Look at their resumes....I think the reason you say that is because, like someone said, we brush defeats and shortcomings under the carpet when it comes to the older fighters. Barrera lost twice at his peak...well once really. Do people think Marco was at his peak in 1997 as a 22/23 year old?
Manny has fought a higher standard of comp. We know this. It's obvious he has lost more rounds. Anyway, this could be offset by the fact he's had more stoppages than Floyd. Also, Pacquiao didn't really 'peak' until 2006 in my opinion. He is a different fighter now compared to how he was in 2003. Floyd has not changed to anywhere near the same extent. He has made only minor modifications to a system that worked for him in 1998. Therefore, I reject your method of gauging their respective qualities. I had Cotto winning only 1 round, and Hamed only 3. But no matter. Floyd's dominance in fights is indeed very impressive... which only made the fact he lost a couple to the smaller Chavez, and was forced to change his tactics, all the more noteworthy.
No Addie, you're getting me wrong, i'm bringing up MAB's inconsistency purely in terms of winning a big fight, in response to 'who would win a fight between him and Pintor', i'm not commenting on who is greater, like i said, clearly Barrera. I never brought up Pintor's inconsistency because i don't think he was inconsistent, that's his level, i don't favour him, i favour Barrera, and he CAN lose to good fighters. I would favour him but if the fight were happening tomorrow i wouldn;t be as confident as if it were Morales fighting Pintor. Is that clearer?
