I thought the same thing but when I saw Mosley land a shot to Mayweather's jaw and hurt him in round 2...I thought to myself, if that Mosley can land than Pacquiao will be able too...and he doesn't get weaker as the rounds progress, he gets stronger. I'm not saying who will win categorically, but I'm not convinced Floyd will know what to do with a Manny Pacquiao.

You mean after he'd been fighting for 12 years, had over 70 fights, had reached his apex, and was fighting above his best weight? A lot of guys tend to get a bit inconsistent past that point. It's the ones that can rebound from major set-backs even at that stage that are to be praised. Which is why Duran is. He did it. A lot. When all the chips were stacked against him and he was essentially written off as a top performer, he defied the odds time and again, well into what should've been his twilight years, well past his best weight.

People seem to judge him by what happened in his post-Leonard (i.e. post-prime) career a lot moreso than they judge him on his actual prime. The Duran of the 70's was one of the best fighters that have ever entered the ring. What he was able to accomplish in the 80's just adds icing to the cake, while showing what kind of warrior/technician he could still be despite all of his handicaps.

I don't see your point. I have never thought he'd take the fight, and this was bolstered by all the drug test and greater purse share bollocks. If the fight gets signed, I'll be the happiest fan on the forum for sure. But I can't see it. There's a reason Floyd never fought any of the top welters between 2005 and 2010, it wasn't an act of God.

I couldn't agree more. A helluva lot of people seem to fall into this trap. It's the main reason why I do not believe for a second that there is some sort of widespread Duran bias on ESB.

You were completely dismissive in that thread, Popkins.

    "I don't give a ****, I ain't reading nothing, Floyd ain't signing ever"

Is basically what you were saying...comical...but it's just more evidence to support the notion that you'd take a giant dump on Floyd's face if given the opportunity...and of course, no consequences.

Duran fought a great fight with a prime Hagler, would off Leonard gone as well with a prime Hagler apposed to the Hagler that he fought? It would of been a great fight and Leonard being the great fighter he was, make no bones about it, Marvin would win.

Ray is a smart guy, if he could of beaten a prime Hagler he would off, he could not so he did not try.

Duran should be praised for going the distance with Marvin , when no middle weights could, but a former lightweight does. Praise due. Floyd is the son of Leonard, is this how we want our boxing greats to be? or do we want them to behave like Duran\Pacman and take on all comers?

Dude....you're comparing Floyd to Leonard? :huh One fought the best fighters of his era, and some of the best fighters that have ever lived...and the other fought Hatton after he almost got stomped on by Collazo? Leonard fought monsters...

I was dismissive, and I will continue to be so until the fight is officially announced, because I believe Team Mayweather are leading the fans a merry dance.

Like I said, it's out of character for you to be so dismissive. Only when Floyd is at the helm.

Boring. I have someone in the General right now saying I have a blinding pro-Haye bias, because I said I thought Briggs was a shite opponent for Vitali K. I have people every time I'm on here calling me a Hamed hater, a Calzaghe hater, a Foreman hater, a Wlad hater, blah blah blah. This whole forum is obsessed with "haters" and "huggers". It's probably the most tiresome thing about it all. Night amigos.
