Just watching FNF and Teddy told Adamek that he heard Grant "was out". Adamek grinned and said "I guess we will see on the 21st." Who do you think will be replacing Grant if he is, in fact out?
That isn't what he meant. Teddy was getting on Adamek's case about cherry picking a shot opponent. By saying Grant is "out" he was saying he's past it and Adamek and his people know it, which is why Adamek blushed and said that we'd see on fight night.
I didn't watch this, but Atlas has some gull talking crap to Adamek esp. while being in charge of a guy whose last 4 fights include Taurus Sykes, Jason Estrada, Leo Nolan and Javier Mora. Talk about gimmies. Lately, Povetkin's career is built on bums plus he's being terribly inactive (those 4 fights took 2 years!!!). Out of all the guys you can accuse of cherry picking, Adamek would be the last one.

No, he meant he was shot. It wouldn't make sense for Adamek to say that we'd see on the night of the fight otherwise. They wouldn't announce the opponent the night of, that makes no sense.
Well I think Adamek took it that way (his english ain't great). Teddy wouldn't have said i heard he's "out" if teddy meant he heard he's shot imo. Also, if teddy heard grant was shot, why would teddy ask adamek for confirmation of that? At any rate, judging from Adamek's answer (who i think also thought teddy mean't grant doesn't have it), i'd say the fight is on at this point (or at least adamek doesnt' know differently)
Did Adamek say he wanted Vitali after grant? I wasn't around my TV during the interview but I think I heard the name pop up.
There's a repeat at 2:30 am. I didn't see it but to me when someone is out, they're out, "shot" is another story.
Actually, what was said was: Atlas: "A little bird told me that Grant might be out" Adamek: "I guess we will see on the 21st" Atlas: "I'm sure we will see before then." Of course the opponent would be announced before the fight, and when Teddy made that last statement, that is what got me thinking he meant Grant was out of the fight or being replaced. That is not verbatim, but it was something to that effect. I have it on DVR if anyone really wants the word for word.
It wasn't that good of an interview. j/k. They just gave him props for his work thus far at HW. Adamek mentioned that fighting Grant is a good idea to target the klits. Teddy asked if he has tall sparring partners for this fight, Adamek said yeah and mentioned some name tall hw i can't remember as one of his sparring partners. then teddy tried to get admaek to confirm a rumor that grant was 'out' and that was about it
