Why didn't Briggs have a Tune up fight , even if just an Argie Cab driver ?

win or lose, i think this is a better test for green than his last 3 opponents.
Briggs is a natural fighter with a fighters instinct & heart.

nope... maybe NSW open against one of the Woodies.....
Green aint top 5 mate. he is a solid boxer with a strong following in Oz and is a decent PPV draw here, equaling great pay day for him and Paul. i for one will be having a lazy hundred on paul at $6... in their primes i reckon Briggs would have owned him. Look at Adamek now.... Paul had 2 very close fights with him. i just dont think Green has that calibre of fighter on his cv and he has not been hit like Paul can hit....
green will not be facin the likes of Cunningham, Huck, Wlodarcyk etc, that i guarantee you... he will keep fighting guys who he can make money off. lets keep things in perspective and not get too carried away with his "greatness"....

If worse comes to worse i hope briggs lets a headkick fly.

Im praying to allah that Briggs beats Green and then somehow gets Mundine in the ring.

I know Briggs will throwdown hard.

and briggs isnt the equivalent of agassi (who in his prime was probably more like a prime evander holyfield or tyson or something - only Sampras one of the top 3 of all time kept agassi from being the dominant player of the era) .......

    it was just an example

Will Greeny still cop **** from you gooses if he beats Briggs then fights Cameron. Or is Cameron a useless fighter also???

    Im just curious.

Is he top 5 in the Division? Who gives a ****,
All the guys here that are hanging **** are more than likely the same blokes that Picked him to lose to Roy Jones.

You raise a couple of good points BK.

It was amazing how many people who thought RJJ would cream Green quickly devalued Green's performance as beating an absolute has-been.

I don't rate Green in the top 5 cruisers in the world, but credit where it's due.

As for the Briggs bout next week, it's a clear-cut case of nothing to gain, everything to lose for Green:

    * Early Green KO = what did you expect, Briggsy was shot to **** like RJJ.
    * Late Green KO = shot opponent, should have finished it much earlier.
*Green PTS win = shot opponent, couldn't even stop him FFS.
*Anything less than a Green win = Green finished, even a shot Briggs...blah, blah...

I'm pretty sure I sat on the fence with Green V RJJ so for an aussie thats as good as saying he wont win

I did give him props for the RJJ win and getting RJJ out here as well.

The Briggs fight is off mate any way you look at it....3 years out = big time ring rust not even talking about Pauls health issues.

Briggs V Green V Mundine in 2006 was what we all wanted to see.....its just too late now.

If Green fights other CW's like Vea and McCracken he will get respect...then if he steps up to world's best CW's then yes we will be all behind him.

And yes if he fights Cameron it will be a great fight.

However that being said I will be getting the fight and watching with interest to see how Cameron goes at CW and to see if Briggs can turn back the clock and make a fight of it for 5 rounds.

Bollocks, 4 years didn't seem to have an effect on Vitali.
Pauls health issue is the only thing with a question mark.

BTW, get rid of that gay avatar, I'm not sure which is worse, Mandy or Toranas. :yep
