What he said was fine, he was telling Foreman to go the other way because Marcante was in the corner. All the other stuff is no big deal, he was saying ****, **** because he knew Foreman injured himself. He was pissed that Foreman got injured, simple as that. And when he fell again, he was pissed that it happened again. Mercante did nothing wrong.
I have to say, that wasn't audible to me when I watched the fight three times on HBO. Refs can't give ****ing advice. Aside from that, it did seem like he was rooting for Yuri? Cotto joked with him after the fight about would he be his ref in the next fight too, or something like that, I remember. Weird.
He wasn't giving him advice. He was telling him to go the other way because Arthur himself was in the corner.
What referees don't move out of the way of the fighters but instead tell the fighters not to hit them while they're fighting and minding each other as they should be doing, instead of the ref?
All I am going to say is that if this happened in New Jersey it would have been stopped after Foreman fell down a second time.
What do you mean he did nothing wrong?! Him being "pissed" is wrong. WTF does he think he is doing, Hes not there to give the crowd a show, he is there to protect the fighter and him being "pissed" could of caused Foreman some serious injury. He was a sitting duck against a vicious puncher like Cotto. Idiot:-(
That was forums own choice to continue. Clearly Foreman didn't care if he risked injury. Mercante gave Foreman the option to continue or stop.
I think it's because he was so close to the corner and he knew Foreman had the bad leg and didn't want him to run into him. He wasn't giving him advice.
So he is telling a one legged man to go the other way, while in the meantime evade Cotto's punches, instead of him getting the **** out of the way!!!atschatschatsch makes sense to me!
