    Nice one Ash.

There might be a decent Irish fighter making his debut on the undercard - could I trouble you to take a photo and make a note of how he done?

Zappas opponent will be lucky to last a round.

Zappas opponent is a stiff who is ranked 312 in the world. he will destroy him, keep the 0 on this record and run around thinking he is the next big thing. when he does step up and fight somebody with a heart beat he will get flogged. sad state of affairs boxing in oz.

From what I hear they tried to stage a title defence in Aus but it was knocked back. This fight isn't about keeping an 0, its about staging a fight in Australia. Apparently many opponents were contacted but no one wanted to take the challenge (maybe trying to protect their record). When it gets to that I guess you just have to put in whoever says yes. Or being inactive.

I don't think Zappa has ever 'run around thinking he is the next big thing' either.

i like Zappa his fights against domestic opponents he looks
like hes got some good skills.but yeah he got a gift against Angulo who wasnt great.and his opponents have more losses than wins in many cases.

i hear what ya sayin about wanting to stay active, but he would learn a lot more in sparring than he will in this bout. i like watching him and he definately has potential, but he will not improve in fights like this. surely they could have found better than the 312 ranked?

Yeah, you would think so. I heard a few good names that were chased but they weren't keen. I agree that these type of fights can't continue if he wants to improve.

On Angulo, I too thought he was lucky to get the win but I hve spoken to a number of people that were over there watching Vic and they all thought Lenny won and were surprised when they arrived back in Australia and heard the hoo-haa.

I got the same story from a few guys who were ringside and also 1 official...all thought Zappa won the fight.

Stewy what are you doing to help aussie boxing besides bagging it?

Hey ash, I think as a boxing fan you shouldnt have to be 'doing something' for Aussie boxing to make a valid criticism of it.

Seriously what does a fight like this one do for the sport ?
