Anyway, I don't see how you guys don't see these are elaborate Arum media schemes to protect his fighter, Pac, at Mayweather's expense.

I have to admit, the man is a media and public opinion manipulating genius. I don't know why, but he seems to have ESPN in his back pocket.

Check out my posts, even some on this thread and you will see what I think of Arum. He got every fan talking about this deadline and conference call, and fed us the same shite he has been talking for weeks. This exclusive deadline was bollocks, LukeO summed it up...he used the hype surrounding Mayweather Pacquiao to promote his own Top Rank bouts.

 

I never have believed Arum really wants the fight. At least not till he milks every possible cent from inhouse fights. I don't understand why he opened his mouth so much when neither side was supposed to be talking.

I don't believe Pacquiao or Mayweather are afraid to fight. I have always believed Arum would be the problem. I think even Roach wants the fight.

 

The scary part is how deep in his pocket he has ESPN. It is almost as if they have executive direction to push whatever BS agenda he asks for and NONE of the "journalists" ask the hard questions and challenge him.

I just thought about it and the ONLY person we have heard from the entire time is... Arum. The last thing out of Team Mayweather was... I am going on vacation with my family.

 

Yep...both camps have been quiet throughout whatever negotiations took place...they even managed to keep Roach quiet for the majority of the time. The only person who has been talking to the media is Arum...and I don't know why, because from what I heard, he had nothing to do with the negotiations...and seemed to know as much as us the fans did.

i don't blame may, i don't blame pac (well, a little for both, for different reasons)

but when a controlling promoter like arum is in the middle, and pulls his b/s...it's almost impossible to get something done

you are shocked by this? The only non-TR inhouse fights that Arum makes are mandatory title defenses, that is how Paul Williams got his shot against Margarito.

 

This is Arum not wanting to stop the PI gravy train.

I also think Pac should be VERY careful with a fight against Margarito in Mexico. Arum may be scheming to switch his headliner. Pac may be walking into a trap like Cotto did.
