dana white says dumb **** for attention/to make money, just like floyd mayweather

annoys me when he opens his big mouth and says some dumb **** like this just makes me think "oh god you've done it again dana"

dana white does NOT represent the views of the MMA community

Did anyone actually listen to this episode? What Dana says is true to an extent.

He says the problem with boxing is that they are not making the fights that people want to see such as Mayweather vs Pacquiao compounded by the fact that good fights are not available on free tv so the market for boxing is shrinking.

It depends. The top MMA fighters aren't making what the top boxers are. They are making millions though. The purses disclosed to athletic commission represent only a fraction of what the top guys are making as they all have PPV cuts etc.

Look this has been done to death. Dana is ONE promotion. Boxing is littered with promotions and for the right reasons. There two entirely different business models as well as sports that are simply not comparable.
Dana is entitled to his opinion but frankly its garbage. He's a failed boxing promoter who struck it rich thanks to his rich friends.

How can you complain that boxing isnt on free TV when the UFC isnt either? Its main events are all PPV.
We dont need to be told by him what fights need to be made. What he fails to realise is fighters are there own individual entitys who are not controlled by a dictator like him. The best thing he can do is shut his mouth and handle his own business instead of constantly looking for leverage to spread his product. He's fast becoming the MMA equivalent of Steve Jobs.

Fair weather fans or not people the "business" of boxing is hurting the sport of boxing. There will alwys be hardcore boxing fans but the growth of casual fans helps the sport.

Contrary to popular belief Dana doesn't make every fight the fans want to see. Also Dana can't get his promotion bigger then a whole OTHER sport. Fact of the matter is people in America just don't watch combat sports like they used to. The UFC is about as big as it'll get in the American market. Boxing is worldwide. Look what happened after the fall of the soviet block countries. The top fighters in the world started coming from the Eastern European countries that never where able to go pro. Now everyone thinks boxing sucks, coincidence? I think not, its just Americanism at its finest. We as American HATE to not be the best and become disinterested in things when we fail.
