Why didn't Briggs have a Tune up fight , even if just an Argie Cab driver ?

I've restored a few old things, but I've always picked on the wrong subjects, bangers which were never gonna be worth much. Always lost money.

Now I have something exclusive (250 made) which doesn't need restoring, and won't either as I'll park it once it gets close to 100,000k's.
It's 8 years old and the value has plateaued at around 22-26k, hopefully in my retirement it will be over well over 50k again.

I've also got a few Ducatis, one old beauty which is just sitting there increasing in value. Bought it in '91 for $1550, spent about $5000 restoring it, today it's worth over 20k.

I couldn't be farked restoring any more, but I ould be tempted with a Beetle if I found a cheap enough dunger.

    Close, it's the ute version, a P250.
Same stroked 5.6L Windsor, same 5spd Tremec box, Brembos, etc.

I'd like to get a TE T3 too though, but I can't get the other half to part with the Beemer.

    Sucks huh.
In her defence the Beemer is a little 328 coupe (poor mans M3) and is quite capable with Bilsteins and some other tweaks to make it behave better.
    Is your Merc an oiler?

    I'd say so.
I haven't had it on the track yet, but my last hotty 6cyl ute did 14.4 @ 97mph.
This fairly flogs the 6 pack, so seat of the pants says an easy mid to high 13. So I guess under 6secs to 100 clicks should be easy enough.
Mine has some really fancy try-Y step back headers hand made too.

Anyway, I'm hitting the hay. Got an early start for a drive to the snow for 3 days of skiing. Yippee...... :happy

Bugger about the Merc, I'm not big on oilers. :?

Torana's are awesome cars, I am pissed off every day when i drive home from work, There is an Lx Hatch sitting under gums tree's about half a KM up the road from my house in someones back yard. I have stopped and asked if they want to sell it, the old guy said its his sons and will get back to me after he talks to him. I contacted them again as there was no replyand they still havnt got back to me. An absolute classic car just rusting away under tree's, It really shits me to be honest.
I have a Monaro that i restored over the years, Ive had it soince i was around 20( 15 years ago) im not sure how to get it to come up when i post but its on my profile page. :p:p

It's amazing how much toranas are worth now, when I started working at my old mans shop on weekends he had some old lady customers with really low mileage toranas, poor old ladys ended up trading them in for peanuts on Toyota corollas.

Tori's,Monaro's,commo's and the like are beasts,I was that desperate for a classic car I nearly bought a val, munro's were just too expensive, then I found a basket case which suited my budget,my friends first impression was "that he pushed better cars down the creek"but it's in my garage and its mine,it even looks like a car now, when I figure out how to do the avatar i'll put it up.
