Yeah, I had Duran winning the fight as well *ducks for cover*, so I rank it as at least as good an achievement. That said, I think Hagler was on the slide even by '83, and hadn't really made the transition in his style (becoming more aggressive) to compensate for his slowing reactions. A more assertive Hagler, or a younger one, would have got the better of that Duran clearly IMO.

In other breaking news, SRL also aged 4 years in the time Hagler did.

Adding to this Leonard had but one single lousy fight to warm up in these four years, 3 years bfore their actual bout.

And SRL started at 160 right??!?!?!?!?!

12 pound rise vs 13 no?

AWESOME pics mate. My only worry is are you dragging that left hand haphazardly across or are your eyes not looking at where your opponent would be?

:lol:yes SRL did age to but you have to admit: an older duran fought a prime hagler. an older leonard fought a VERY reduced hagler. don't get me wrong, i scored the fight for leonard and he was brilliant. he won, duran lost but both were incredible

what i meant was duran put on 25 pounds to fight hagler, leonard put on 13

Not this again. I'm not totally alone on this, GPater is one who saw it that way too.

I think knowledge of the outcome affects people sometimes. Rewatch rounds 1-5 and tell me who's doing the cleaner punching...

:goodi rate the best combination of the two haglers as caveman lee fight. hagler was an incredible boxer against briscoe, an incredible fighter against hearns and his best somewhere in between. hagler at his best beats duran, course at his best he also beats leonard

**** no, leonard was well past best in both weight and age. but so was duran when he fought hagler.

leonard's achievement was great but so was duran's. and duran fought a better version of hagler
