No no no, he didn't hedge his bets, he created the situation at the expense of interest in pac/may so he had to play role reversal and go on the defensive. He was smart. Floyd now looks like the biggest coward ever and that doesn't serve his purpose because all the steam behind pac/may disappears if no one thinks they are ever going to fight. And that steam keeps interest in pac's next fight alive to the casual people tracking pac/may. Arum is a weasel, man.
Do you agree his silence is a bit suspicious? I don't think Mayweather is a bad person and that's relevant because it shows how well marketed he is. Throughout his entire career, he's been managed well. That's what makes this so suspicious to me because I can't see Mayweatger who has worked so hard on his public persona for the last decade, suddenly allow everyone to call him a coward without any reply. Does it fit Mayweather? Absolutely not, I don't think.
He didn't speak to them directly, but through Greenburg. He was the middle man, who settled everything.
I'm hoping (I've said this quite a lot recently) at the minute that Mayweather keeps quiet...and this is only because there may still be a chance they can get this bout sorted. They have 10 days to work it out, he either needs to keep quiet and get the bout finalized, or he needs to speak out and let everyone know whats happening...and if this bout is happening this year or not. If the only reason this bout isn't happening is because of Mayweather...the only legitimate reason he has is Roger potentially going away. Thats it. If he brings out any other excuse it's not acceptable, and no fan should accept it either...
I see what you're saying but I think this is a ploy to get Mayweather interested in fighting. Look at how baffled people are by Arum's "I understand" type comments. It's a trick to get people thinking he isn't biased against Mayweather and is therefore telling the truth. Everyone then turns their emotions onto Floyd, this pushing Floyd into accepting. The fact is though, that Mayweather could have said something. Arum is just promoting, nothing more, nothing less.
I'd like a comment from Greenburg because it strikes me as strange that Arum didn't speak Golden Boy whatsoever! I think he has the information to unlock what is really happening!
Seriously, if May gives some stupid reason to not fight im gonna leave oceanside and drive to vegas myself... but in all seriousness, the man doesnt have to speak when bob or anybody else says so. To me its just like when manny was focus on congress, he wasnt thinking about boxing. Floyd probably has other **** on his mind that doesnt have to do with boxing. And no one is going to strong arm him..especially Slob Arum. That same excuse about not fighting TB or PW is the same thing that floyd was crucified for saying....but now its alright i guess..since its bob and pac. And i say pac because he can put a stop to it. ANd how the **** do you explain this...Paul williams and TIm bradley dont deserve a chance but ****ing Margocheato does!???? If i was manny I'd tell bob **** no. Manny aint nothing but a puppet.
Yeah, but this void is void **** needs to be toned down until floyd gives his reason. If it's bull****, then yes. He is a ****ing disgraceful coward. If he's been quiet for a good reason, then good, now speak up and figure this **** out.
Greenburg relayed the info from Arum. I agree. Way too many people are involved. I think if Mayweather and Pacquiao had sat down themselves, the fight would have happened already.
It didn't sound like that in the conference call last night...Arum seemed to know as much as every fan out there. He pointed to Oscar's statement in the media, and 'assumed' everything was going well. Like you said, they needed/need to sit down together and sort it out.
