I agree Floyd just needs to come out and say something. Maybe he's in hiding because nothing he will say will put him in good light unless those words are, "We have a deal. I'll fight Manny Pacquiao on November 13." Even if he says it's because of Roger, which I think is a valid excuse. Just sucks for boxing. How prime will both boxers be in 2011 when Floyd is 34 and Pac is 32?

I don't know if you are Black or not, but I have to strongly disagree. I think you are reading too many NEGATIVE racial overtones into this.

The "Black American Style" of boxing is quite evident. It is usually heavily dependent on speed, puts a premium on quality not quantity of punches, usually more counterpunch oriented, lots of footwork, lots of waist only head movement, and very risk averse in the sense that they don't like to get hit if at all possible. It is less about race and more about conveying a specific "brand" of boxing that is more appreciated in certain circles.

To say that is the "Black American Style" of boxing does not mean every single Black American fighter practices it. Mike Tyson, Tommy Hearns, Marvin Hagler, Joe Frazier, George Foreman didn't practice it and they were damned great. It also doesn't mean it excludes other fighters, Willie Pep was one of the damned pioneers of the style!

It is just a sub-category of the Pure Boxer and/or Boxer Puncher.

 

floyd mayweather? i can live with that...some of his fights are boring..some of his fights are good.
