Is Floyd-Martinez or Williams More Competitive than Floyd-Pacquiao?

Sure, we all wanted to see Pacquiao-Floyd.

But honestly, do you feel Pacquiao would be more competitive than Paul Williams, or Sergio Martinez?

Pacquaio gives up height, reach and overall size to Floyd. His speed is negated by Floyd's speed as well. Pacquiao doesn't really have Randall Bailey type power either, he catches people off guard with his unorthodox punches.

With Williams or Martinez, Floyd doesn't enjoy these advantages. I feel these fights will show his greatness, much more than a fight with a smaller man in Pacquiao.

Floyd & Pac are a level above the rest. Both Cotto & Mosley were top 5 p4p, they both looked like they didnt even belong in the same ring as Pac & Floyd.

So no. They will no be harder fighters, regardless of their size advantage.

Martinez would be the easiest fight for Floyd. The filipino guy in the middle. Paul Williams the hardest.

PW who got outboxed by Quintana suppose to be a hard fight for Floyd? Please. Floyd outboxes both guys easy, EASY!

Floyd fights both guys the same night and beats them.

Williams is sloppy and doesnt use reach, target practice for Floyd.

^ Ya I'm not convinced on Willaims or Martinez. Their just bigger southpaws. That doesn't mean they can beat Floyd. Pacquiao is on a completely different level than these guys.

  7. Yes, they would be. I can't really envision Floyd being competitive with Pacquiao.

Since you're the pacturd expert here, this is my question, why did pac stop inside fighting so much once he got with Roach? I remember seeing him try that **** back in his philippines days.:huh

My guess is he was inside fighting in the early days because he could use his size and strength as the bigger man. These days he is the smaller man so he can use his footspeed from mid range instead.

Chance of any of those 2 fights would be a fine thing.

You can't expect Floyd to fight Martinez or Williams though, if he had to retire to avoid the Welter division while the divisions best were all going at each other there is NO ****ing chance he would fight either of these.

I don't remember him ever being much of an inside fighter but I haven't seen a lot of his earlier fights. Right now he does throw on the inside every so often but he doesn't really stay in the pocket. He likes to dart in and out and land punches at mid-range.
