Since this is all just for fun. I want to imagine that Cus never died and that by the time they fought Mike would be in his mid 20's, and never would have lost his discipline. If so Tyson destroys him within 4 rounds.
I will go with Tyson. Johnson was a defensive whiz, but Mike would be to much for him. Someone made the Sam Mcvey comparison 2 Tyson and that is valid as Mcvey is the closest thing 2 Tyson from back in those days but still Mike is better then Mcvey. I say Johnson makes it tough on Mike for as long as it lasts but we are talking PRIME TYSON and in my eyes that guy is one of the best all time. I see Tyson having a little trouble getting to the chin of JJ early, JJ drops the right hand on Mike quite a few times early but Mike works the body is the busier fighter as JJ picked his spots alot, Tyson will catch him good some where and hurt him and then once he does he goes in for the kill!! Tyson KO7!!
McVey was a really good fighter and Johnson annihilated him. Tortured him for 10+ rounds. That's worse than Tyson just owning someone real fast. Johnson also has one quality that makes him a horrible horrible matchup for Tyson: mental game. He's incredibly good at mocking and belittling his opponents, and everyone knows what happens when you stand up to mike and he gets frustrated and upset.
and both were no ****ing jack johnson, you have to remember this is the fighter who was so good that white people were forced to acknowledge his superiority as a fighter and give him a title shot
dempsey would crack that egg chin. wlad has never faced a legitimately great inside fighter. dempsey would bob and weave his way in since wlad's uppercut kinda blows. the jab would give jack issues but as soon as he gets inside dempsey would demolish him
Yes, which is what i've been saying all along. Johnson was defensively incredible, especially when it came to counterpunching and catching gloves. He also had pretty damn good footwork and ring generalship. he was very good at setting a fight up his way and dictating the pace. He was also a really good inside and body puncher as well, getting a few of his K.O's that way. Tyson would get really frustrated by Johnson. Hard to hit, hard to find. not to mention he was a mentally infuriating opponent, which is like Tyson's kryptonite. He would beat Tyson the same way someone like Ali would, frustrating him, being hard to find, hitting him and then disappearing. Tyson could overwhelm him by volume but Johnson had the legs to evade Tyson for a ten or twelve round fight(seeing how he did that **** for 20+ rounds). Now if you were asking me Tyson vs. Dempsey, of course Tyson would flatten Dempsey.
Actually the more i think about it, i agree with u, it will be a bit like the Tucker fight but Johnson is (probably) bigger than Tucker and obviously better. Then again, thinking about the Tucker fight has made me change my mind again i say Tyson by points :hi:
