According to arum on the conference call, he's been negotiating through Ross Greenburg who's been acting as the middle man throughout the negotiations. According to Arum , Ross told him all of the points were agreed upon then... no response from Floyd. The last thing we've heard out of Floyd's mouth is that he'll be retiring for 1-2 years. It sounds to me like that's exactly what his plan is. He's either going to take a year off and maybe take the fight next year, or just avoid it altogether. Either way, my guess is he's waiting for Pac to either get beat or look faded. The only other explanation is that Arum is completely lying about all of this, and I find that hard to believe. If he was lying, you'd think Floyd's camp would have said something by now. They're basically getting shitted on all over the media and they haven't said a word. If Arum is telling the truth, and the points were agreed to , then Floyd basically has no good excuse. If he says he "needs to take a year off" he'll look like a ducker. If he doesn't say anything, he'll look like a ducker. If he says he can't fight because his trainer isn't available, he'll still look like a ducker. The only other scenario I can think of is that Floyd really is going to sign the contract, but hes' waiting to make a big surprise announcement. I hope that's the case.
Just look at the last 8 years of Floyd's career, and you'll understand that this fight won't happen. But Pac will fight on and when he finally loses, Floyd marks will all point out how that proves he would've lost to Floyd. Just like they say how Cotto, Margarito, Berto, Williams, Clottey, Tzsyu, Harris and Casamayor all WOULD'VE lost to him, had he actually fought any single solitary one of them.
the thing is, deadline or no deadline if Floyd comes out now and says "I agree", the whole PR thing is recuperated.
that's the only last remaining hope. If he comes out and starts talking ****, this fight won't ever happen. Ego's will get re-inflated and it's going to be the same bull**** like last time.
But Bob defended Floyd almost religiously doing the conference call. I think they know Floyd may not want to fight this year or without his uncle Roger, and Bob is fine cashing in on Pac one more fight against another Top-Rank stable. Floyd probably was told and agreed to not speak in the event of him getting more of the purse and the blood-testing requirements would be agreed upon. Sometimes we think about why Haye or Floyd aren't saying anything. The first reaction is coward, but perhaps there's contractual obligations requiring them not to speak. Either way, Bob was way to nice on behalf of Floyd who he routinely rips on. To me, this is because he's trying to do damage control saying Floyd has legit reasons in order to further salvage the fight for 2011, and to still cash in on another Top Rank fight for Pac.
If it's to do with his trainer, why not say so? People would actually think that's fair enough but he's said nothing, allowing everyone to take shots at him. I can't see Mayweather allowing anything to hurt his reputation unless he really has no choice - Meaning, he hasn't accepted the deal and his reputation crashes anyway.
It give me nausea when i read the stupid comments of the morons anti-Floyd. You never fight if you don't have your trainer. Look what happens to Cotto when he fights Paquiao. No matter the ending of the fight, his corner was unable to give him any kind of advice of what to do and don't. And to the mindles morons haters Floyd has 33 years, he is a veteran, no longer a young fighter and Paquiao is much younger. If you said that he is waiting to Pac to get old you are so dumb than you forget that next year he will have 34 years, and that no matter how good you are is an advance age for boxing. If you want to be blind, be blind, but don't be so moron and so stupid with your comments. There is no way that Floyd gets a better chance with age no matter who Pac fights. He will be older, has not been in a fight for a year and the older that you get, the more work it takes to get in shape and to be sharp and to get the proper timing. And timing is the name of the game for Floyd. Your comments show how stupid a person can be when he is a hater. His opinion are so single minded that you try to explain something without any kind of arguments. Only blatant and mindless opinion. Next year Floyd will be 34 and Paquiao 31. Who has the age advantage??? It seems that your logic is so bad and your opinions so biased, that Mosley was old to Floyd, but it seems that Floyd will never get old to you. At 34 age no fighter must be in a ring no matter what. Use nalitical thinking before post and dont be so stupid please. 34 Years is no longer a younger fighter. 31 years is a pretty good age.
Very plausable outlook on things Gander, in my mind would it not be a problem if Flo Snr. took control of things? Not too much problem with that surely? The "trainer thing" surely can't be that much of an issue, half his family are experts in boxing(ok maybe jus Jeff)... I could be completely wrong and out of order, don't really know what to make of it all tbh. Mayweather UD btw.
Christ ****ing drivel. Floyd is 33, Pac is 31. Pac has had more fights, more wars, more brutal fights with more HOFers. Floyd doesn't get hit, like 3 times in his career where he's been hurt, and WTF gay excuse do you have, oh he's gonna lose a step? Age? What, either fight or don't and go help the kids. Floyd is getting **** on right now by everyone so deal with it.
Then Haymon shouldn't have negotiated in the first place and Jeff Mayweather telling their side in the news........but they didn't!
Floyd is aware of Sergio and Paul - both whom are beatable and are bigger fishes than Pac from a competition standpoint. Floyd isn't losing any sleep over the debacle. He's likely enjoying his vacation and probably snickering on his yacht about all the people he's pissed off. This theory that he's acting cowardly is not a bad one but I think people should get away from it for once. It sounds more like fishing for attention than anything else. If he is ducking he's not the first and certainly won't be the last. Pac isn't exactly a huge risk taker himself. He wants to fight Margo? Really? Wow, talk about jumping into a lion's jaw. Paul has been calling Pac out for almost year now and we've not heard Pac mention Paul's name even once. Yet I don't feel the need to lambaste Pac. Doing so would only make me look like I'm crying over the fact that I didn't receive an ideal gift for Christmas. Anyway, I hope the Boxing Gods make it up to us. One thing we can all agree on is we don't deserve to be dragged through the recent mess.
