From a fan's perspective, yes we want it now.

They (promoters) know this fight won't lose momentum. The first time around, all of us fans said it has to happen now, and when it didn't, we said we were finished with Pac/Floyd.

Then the discussions came up again and what happened? Even more people started talking about the fight.

Now we're saying it has to happen now; but I guarantee next year when promotion for the fight begins, it will be even huger.

The only thing that will kill the momentum for this fight is a Pacquiao loss. If he loses his next fight the Pac/Floyd fight will be in trouble. So it is a huge gamble for Floyd. If he waits and Pac wins, the fight will be huge. If Pac loses, the fight won't reach its true potential.

It's already lost a little steam from the last negotiations in January IMO.

I don't see how the promoters don't see that the fight will lose momentum if/when Pac beats Cotto again and Mayweather doesn't fight for a year.

I think there was more steam this time around. ****, this time tons of people stayed up till midnight (3 a.m. in the east coast) to hear the status.

Like I said, as a fan I want to see it now - Floyd doesn't fight for the fans though. He is content with a huge check once a year.

Right now he is trying to make sure the timing of this fight coincides with his album release, Roger's release (if he does time), plus it will defer millions of dollars in taxes until 2012. That's why I said it was a business decision. Plus, in May of 2011 millions would have just received their income tax returns, which they can spend on the PPV.

Interesting. The 'criteria' goes from "a post critical of a black man who isn't fighting another black man" to fights where I "choose the non-black fighter".

You're playing yourself something fierce, man.

Just curious, but how does an alleged non comment on a fight between two non-black fighters help your argument?

    You're playing yourself something fierce.

No momentum lost at all. Mayweather/Mosely has made the fight even bigger now.

    Pac/Clottey made it smaller.

There was more general public interest after Pac starched Cotto.

BTW, how DID you score Martinez/Cintron, or did you not watch it?

    PBFred,

I am going to assume this is a legit question on your part.

Yes, I saw the fight and yes, I thought Martinez CLEARLY won it. First by (unfortunately waved off) KO and then by points.

    Message to LukeO,

No need to send private messages (which I just saw) full of homoerotic threats.

Anything conversation between us can take place in the public square for all to see.

haah, yep. But I checked the messages, I called him a coward and a **** sucker.

I don't think I was too far off the mark, so i don't feel bad.

He has yet to produce a single critical post of mayweather in his 3+ years of posting, so I still think he'd rather coddle some weewee instead of acting like a boxing fan.

Well he was called a coward by ESPN and no respond. Now the deadline passes and still no respond. Everyone is waiting to hear why he didn't sign the contract.

Until he comes out and state his reason the whole world will say he is scared of pacquaio. Including the floydboys:lol:
