In the aftermath of Alfredo Angulo's first round destruction of Joachim Alcine at Agua Caliente in Rancho Mirage, California, boxing scribe Gabriel Montoya [who is also the co-host of BoxScene's audio show 'Leave It In The Ring Radio'] told promoter Gary Shaw that Lou DiBella was interested in matching WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez against Alfredo Angulo...........................:dealMAKE IT HAPPEN!!!

Nice fight, would be great if this happened, would prefer to see Sergio make a good defence of his MW title though

I'd like to see him just make the best money he can make now that he's finally "there" at 35.

Angulo has a better shot beating Williams than he does Martinez.

First Martinez called out a 39 year old welterweight, and now he wants to fight a kid who has 20 fights. Some great champion ya got there boys:patsch

You mean Mosley? ...A three-years-his-senior (thirty-eight) former light middleweight champion? Shame!

You're attempting to defend the indefensible. Martinez is THE MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WHOLE ****ING WORLD!!

Taylor's first fight as champ was a rematch with Hopkins, and JT dumped a mando and dropped a title to make it happen.

Pavlik's first fight as champ was a rematch with JT, and Pavlik moved up to a weight that Jermain chose.

Martinez wants to fight old welterweights and/or prospects.

Martinez tried to rematch with Pavlik, you know what happened. Pavlik wants to come back against someone younger and less dangerous than Angulo.

Shaw does seem to be protecting Angulo though. Isn't Angulo supposed to fight Dzinurek?
