Don't worry, it's just Hamas propaganda I s'pose... - oh no, it's the notoriously pro-Israel BBC. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfT4QrqOnYM[/ame]
Couple wins Duran had not already mentioned: Ernesto Marcel - brilliant fighter, Hector Thompson, a ****ing beast at 135. Read what Ray Arcel has to say about him.
All due to FEAR:deal thats because not so deep down they are all scared weak little men who seek the safty of numbers & lack individuality & actually fear it You see this in nature all the time as in flocks of sparrows squealing alarm calls when a predetor is in the vicinity & they then mob it in the hope it will drive it away...you'll encounter them in all walks of life as in the main they are the invisible little men who'll never amount to much, the sort that get sand get in there faces & slapped around in any boozer week in week out Leonard was in some ways a shepherd as he new how to lead his flock & then he fleeced them. All the Duran fans of all nationalities that i've encountered around the world have all had this spark of individuality/anti authoritarism to their persona & nearly all too a man were self-employed running their own show or on their way too, so in effect natural born bosses & leaders whilst Leonard fans have always been in the Michael Jackson fanboy mode/Celeb lover's in the main & if his pal like's him he feels he has too also so as not to stick out from the crowd.....Cowardslol:
Duran had his bad fights but he had some great ones when he rose to the occasion. His partying habits after a fight were as bad as Ruben Olivares. Remember also his best weight was around 135-140lbs and he still went up in weight to beat Leonard and fight a close one with Hagler for his age and size. Duran is still a great fighter lb for lb and #1-2 at 135
No he isn't. The general consensus is that with all of his technical ability, great footwork and angles, he still can't be considered to be among the greatest Bantamweights of all time due his reign consisting of pretty poor opposition. That and 118lbs is historically insanely strong.
Technically I think he had bags of talent. A beautiful fighter, as Gil Glancy rightfully pointed out on numerous occasions during his fight with Kelvin Seabrooks. He wasn't great defensively, very hittable, and was guilty of fighting down to the level of his opposition, but there's more than enough footage to support the notion that Orlando was indeed a great fighter. You're talking ****.
