Coming off the OWGP that is correct. But on arriving in the UFC i think much like before CC let his arrogance get ahead of him and he thought the title had his name on it.

AA and Sylvia were former UFC heavyweight champs. How they suddenly dont matter anymore i dont know. As for Hunt Coleman and the giant Choi who outweighed Fedor by over 100lbs there just average dont you know..
shane carwin was a hype job sorry:deal look at his first 10 opponents WTF in boxing they call that a padded record "he has been in soft" thats what tedy atlas would say and you know it. but of course this is not Friday Night Fights! tell me have you heard of 10 Neil Wain - fat man who the ufc brought in to lose 9 Christian Wellisch 8 Sherman Pendergarst 7 Rex Richards 6 Rick Slaton 5 Chris Guillen 4 Justice Smith 3 Jay McCown 2 Casey Jackson 1 Carlton Jones - carwin's first fight then after fat boy they got carwin first gonzaga then mir :tired shane carwin was never good he didnt even have a plan for round 2, and its a 5 round fight! if shane would have beat brock they would be calling him #1 atsch
Dude - if you really think Carwin is a hype job based on his first ten opponents - then let's look at Mike Tyson's first ten opponents - or even Vitali Klitschko's first ten opponents. Mike Tyson's first ten opponents: 1985-10-25 217 Robert Colay 224¼ 8-5-1 1985-10-09 215¾ Donnie Long 215¾ 15-3-0 1985-09-05 219½ Michael Johnson 196 11-5-0 1985-08-15 213½ Lorenzo Canady 203½ 3-0-0 1985-07-19 217¼ Larry Sims 217 3-16-3 1985-07-11 215¾ John Alderson 226½ 3-0-0 1985-06-20 217 Ricardo Spain 184¾ 1-0-0 1985-05-23 212 Don Halpin 212 10-18-0 1985-04-10 214¼ Trent Singleton 198½ 1-3-0 1985-03-06 214 Hector Mercedes Vitali Klitschko's first ten opponents: 1997-10-04 Will Hinton 16-11-1 1997-06-14 Jimmy Haynes 10-5-1 1997-05-10 232½ Cleveland Woods 233¾ 14-11-0 1997-04-12 236 Derrick Roddy 223½ 17-11-0 1997-03-08 236¼ Calvin Jones 282¾ 20-16-0 1997-02-22 236 Troy Roberts 234¾ 8-3-0 1997-01-25 Mike Acklie 229½ 11-13-1 1996-12-21 236 Brian Sargent 231½ 9-8-0 1996-11-30 236 Frantisek Sumina 241¼ 2-17-0 1996-11-16 232¾ Tony Bradham 227½ 6-3-0 By your logic they would both be considered hype jobs as well. No. Every fighter goes through a learning phase where they fight journeymen in an effort to hone their particular style. The sign of whether or not a fighter is good is when they step up their competition and how they respond. When Carwin stepped up against top ten opposition and top five opposition - he continued his KO streak. Carwin is one of the most dangerous heavyweights on the planet and has knocked out enough men in the first round to prove so.Brock Lesnar survived an assault that has put away every other fighter he's faced and Lesnar persevered and one via submission. It's time to give credit where it is due and call Lesnar the best heavyweight on the planet. That doesn't mean that guys like Nogueira or Fedor or ever Overeem couldn't beat him, but until they do, Brock Lesnar is the man to beat.
Classic hey...Boxers have 3times more bouts then MMA fightrs do..Most of the boxing champs didnt first fight for a world title until the 20fight mark. Most MMA fighters are lucky to have 25fights in their whole career.
If your a popular American, all you need to do to get that title shot is a high PPV rating. Boxers mostly have to prove their wares and climb up the ladder before going to a belt. This is what happens when promotions actually let their fighters fight against the top from other promotions.
Yeah but most boxers fight nothing but BUMS and maybe 1 or 2 other prospects before they get a title shot from one of the dozen or so alphabet soup orgs. In the UFC it is much harder to get a title shot although there are exceptions (ie Brock).
Shane Carwin pretty much did what Floyd did. Tore through a host of opponents to wet his feet and then just got involved with top competition by facing top 10 Gonzaga and top 5 Frank Mir. He decimated them.
Ok it was LOOONG known WAAAAAAAAAAAy before Mike turned pro that he was one of the most precocious boxign talents coming into the heavy division. There is ZERO comparison between Tyson's ability and the guys he fought on his way up to a title when compared H2H with Carwin. The maths simply dont add up. The fact is Carwin is just a big 265lb dude with decent power. Nothing more or less. He's not anything close to the talent and destructive force that Mike was.
